Sweden!

Cute!Heys one and all! Currently at Stockholm with Xian Xin, and met up with some of his friends like Henry, Eng Swee and Hui Hui, all fellow exchange students to KTH in Stockholm, Sweden. And Hui Hui's family was also there, when we met up with them! Had quite a short tour of Stockholm as the daylight hours are pretty short (well I arrived only at 1130 due to flight delays...cancellation of a AMS-Gotenborg flight meant that the passengers meant to be on that flight ended up being on ours, and we had to wait whilst all the passengers were being 'found'.)

Stockholm was nice, albeit a little cold, and being a Saturday and the weekend before Xmas, it was kind of quiet in the old City Centre, or Gamla Stan. The Xmas market was there, but it closed at an early time of 6pm, most likely because the sun sets at 3pm around here? Daylight is simply short here!

This meant that most of the time, after our lunch at 2pm, we were moving about in the cold cold Stockholm. City Hall was also closed early, so we had no choice but to find the 'free' places to travel to...but there were only a few. So it's really a pity. Haiz. Nonetheless, Stockholm was pretty beautiful and actually most of the attractions are away from the city centre too, like Skansa.

Tried some of the local xmas market stuff, including the much-acclaimed reindeer heart (yea, the smoked version) and a cuppa Swedish Xmas drink. And the MacDonalds' burger is relatively affordable, about 10 SEK for the burger itself, which is almost equivalent to the same (cheese)burger u get in Singapore! So, that's the 'cheapest' food I can find, thus far, without including the food you get from the supermarket to cook!

Will be off to Kiruna (in the north) for a white xmas! Here's wishing one and all a blessed and merry Christmas, and may the year 2008 be a much better and fulfilling year!!

Take care all! Have a wonderful holidays k! You're all sorely missed!!!

'Tis the season to be jolly...

Joyeux Noel :)

2007 was ok...but it got better. Ups and downs came, I've faced it, but did I grow stronger?
2008 beckons...a busy year ahead, it seems.
