/* Today was just...BAD */
So it all started off with a day of hope and high expectations, but ended being deluded and depressed. The start of the exams...for 300+ of us.
Who would have thought that by practicing past year questions, it still would not be enough for me to get through my Practical Exam (PE) without much problems? Or even the mere mortal task of creating a function which would loop correctly. In the end, I was so agitated by my inability to do it that I submitted something which could be compiled, but output would always be incorrect.
Furthermore, I was hit with the point that I was not supposed to use a 2-dimensional array. OUCH. Totally died there and then.
The day seriously started off on the wrong foot, with a jam on PIE at 1030hrs (everybody going to Novena for FOOD!?!?). I seriously thought that I would be super late and was literally sweating...and the 151 was seen just in front of my 57. I was praying that the jam would prevent the 151 from leaving the bus stop, but my luck wasn't good enough; it left, and I missed it at the CJC stop again, and the SCGS stop AGAIN.
Pissed, I decided to get off 57, walked down to SCGS and took a 66 to KAP, and attempted to catch up on the 151, or to take a 154 so as to change to a 96.
My luck held, for once, as I got off KAP, caught a 74, and then dropped just after Holland Rd to get onto the 151 behind my bus. Phew.
Exams was supposed to be okay, plus you get to have notes with you! But it's just all useless. 2 hrs to finish a lab, where I usually took 4 hrs to do so at home, even with some hints from recommended solutions! Really depressing.
Nevertheless, still went on with the movie outing which I had talked to my Datuk pals friends/"family"/how-do-u-define-the-r/s?, Pei Geok, Shu Ying and Tze Hwee. By then, my mood had somewhat been uplifted, but I really felt lousy and did not even want to study. It's THAT bad.
Met them at PS (after a flurry of SMSes which made me spin in the correct place, direction and time to meet o.O"), and got ambushed by this MTV crew who asked us to pose a question to Sun Yanzi (my idol!). But, I couldn't think of much questions to ask, and to talk in front of a cameraman with a wireless mike is really weird! (Given more time, I would ask her: "Could I have you as my girlfriend?" or maybe "What is your handphone number? Can be my friend?"
) So watch MTV these few weeks, maybe you'll see me on!
(Let me know k?!)
And I really mixed up the new Cathay cinema near PS and the one at Cineleisure. The new one (which is really just a refurbished old cineplex from long ago) looks so posh! Noticed that it stood out in contrast with the nearby old carpark, and with SMU just diagonally opposite, it was no small wonder that quite a number of uni students were there. Though only cinemas were present (for now) in the complex, the posh-ness of it certainly made me feel a little out of place. I see well-dressed people (some in business-like clothes, others in 'hot' and 'cool' outfits)
She sustains me....she thrills me...We watched
Tristan and Isolde, the supposedly romantic, war-torn movie. But I thought it was LOTR re-visited; too many scenes replicated those in LOTR! (
Or maybe, it's just that ppl of that time do the things similarly...watched too much movies with same themes?) It's one of those legend-type of movies, with the mixing of love, war, hate, treachery and bravery.
As yings said, it was kinda dragggggyyyyy....Yea it sure did. But the "You die, I die" attitude never went through...in the end *ahem, spoiler* died and *ahem, another spoiler* disappeared. Nonetheless, I think the main theme of how love is more important than duty and death seemed...so holy.
"My face in thine eyes, thine in mine appears,
And true plain hearts do in the faces rest;
Where can we find two better hemispheres,
Without sharp north, without declining west?
Whatever dies, was not mixed equally;
If our two loves be one, or thou and I.
Love so alike, that none can slacken, none can die."
Wonderful poem, aint it?

Thanks for the movies, gals!
