*Bongo Song in ears*
Kewl! Jus finished a whole day of events for the Unit Anniversary! Morning was fun + games under a sun @ East Coast Park, with soccer, Captain's Ball, relays being done!
Afternoon was a -off- time for us to recharge our batteries to keep going for the evening session, and I went to the adidas sale @ Suntec...boy! It was crowded! Plus, lotsa stuff snapped up, and no bags allowed! Wasted lotsa time queuing sia...
Evening was a hawaiian-themed dinner in an outdoor setting @ the Big Splash. Power 98FM provided some early music, as well as most of the outdoor lightings, and MDC provided the songs and dances... Cool! Like, Intuition, Disease... mostly rock, with a couple of chinese songs :)
After that, went out with the guys to Orchard, intending to watch movie @ Cineleisure, but timing was awkward and ended up not watching... Went to Paragon's Coffee Club Xpress to sit down and have a bite + drink + talk. After tt, was home sweet home...with 8am a wake up time AGAIN o.0'

Seems like the papers got wind of the double standards imposed @ Asian Aerospace, and I gotta agree... damn b******s. Think they can boss around, cos they are the boss there. Sheesh. Hope that they lose money, go bankrupt etc. Let less ppl conclude deals here.
On another note, had dinner for Shawn, who's gonna be posted overseas @ Thailand Sai Yok Camp for a year or so. It was more of a farewell dinner, held @ a coffeeshop @ AMK (blk 232, ave 2). Nice dinner, 9 dishes, with 2 types of crab! Buttered and chili style! And kudos to Darren, who's the organiser for this dinner.
Oh...from 27 - 29th Feb there's an Adidas sale over @ Suntec City @ Hall 603.

Burp...
Left me with a DAMN bad impression, on the administration... and it's not as great as I expected...
First up, was late to Tampines Interchange to meet Darren, and the bus 19 was late & slow due to traffic jam from Hendon Camp till the exhibition area... The entire road was closed, all vehicles had to be checked by the police and Gurkhas. (Gurkhas carry MP5s and 12 gauge shotguns! Wow!) Also, we walked in, 'cos the bus was too slow...but it WAS a mistake...lol...
Next, was NEARLY denied entry into the Asian Aerospace '04 today due to the guard saying "Your pants are jeans, sorry u cant go in" WTF?!?! It's not jeans, and it's PANTS! WTF?!?! He's blind, and I see those foreigners going in in jeans, and nobody stops them?! Females can go in decked in jeans too! So much for double standards! The security b*****d and the (private) policeman trying to play punk... pui!
After tt, managed to 'sneak' in as crowds started to enter...and I went in together with them...at the same time the guards had changed, so *phew!* But, it left me sore with how they wasted my time, standing OUTSIDE just to watch the displays, and being so lame, being wusses, and many more. Basically, they think they are great. They think that 'Our management reserves the right to reject any visitors' is SOOOO powerful. Wait till I see yar in camp (if u do)... U are gonna see smth...
So I entered, and found Darren, plus Neil. Heh Neil shldnt be in, cos his was baggy cargo pants...business attire?! Nah... that's too far manz... Anyway, took some pics, missed a couple of the fighter / helicopter shows, but price to pay for entering, well.... Managed to take some shots, but guess it would come out blur, depends on my shutter speed... The digital camera was virtually useless, 'cos the planes were too far away to give any clear picture.
After the entire airshow, we proceeded to view the static displays, and boy was I disappointed. No Apache, a mock up of the Eurofighter and F35, a Hawk light strike aircraft, 2 F-15s, 1 F-16 C/D, 1 Rafale and that about sums up the major aircraft on display... (I'm discounting those civillian aircraft yar see...) Sheesh was I disappointed... And the freebies? Little man... ahh... And I couldn't locate the Stealth F117A which was supposedly here! o.0' Eh maybe I missed it under the large aircraft display...If so, damn it.
So we walked about till around 2 plus, damn hot sia, and with the long sleeved shirt... lol... Met Rahul, Jeff and Xiaoping at various times, and me and Darren went to Simei for lunch at....3.30 pm o.0' Walked a bit, then proceeded to take 88 home (long slow ride haha)
Met Eliz @ TP for dinner, since I ate quite late and she also din wanna eat much, ate @ Mos, a time for catching up, since we didnt meet for... 1 yeaR?! Wow...sure is long, and sure great to talk to a long lost fren! (although...1 year only... haha!)

I'm at a loss for words. This must be one of the most unforgettable days of my life when I hear of the news which has struck a chord... deep inside my heart.
U know, your parents bring you up for 19 years, and the blood and soul and love invested in you is all for the hope of a better future, for you and them. For YOU are the future... YOU are the person they have painstakingly brought up for 19 years and in a way, considered as an 'investment'.
BUT! Disaster strikes, and of it all, it's through something which you HAVE to repay... A necessary route in which all of us have to take. One wrong turn and 2 fatal turns later, you end up in deep shit... Not following the rules, not checking things out carefully before handing over to you, and trying to do something which you are not TRAINED to do... In chinese they call it "Zi4 Tao2 Ku3 Chi1" which loosely means bringing it upon yourself...
Why?! For a stupid (yet grave) mistake, you have plunged yourself into a life of misery with virtually no path of return! What's the probability of getting back the life which you have once lived again?! Losing your future now, it's really a stupid mistake! Though I sympathise with you, I hope others will realise your mistake. What you have done now should NEVER be repeated again. All of us must learn from it, and it was a damn painful lesson indeed. A fire in the hole if I were to say so.
-sigh-
My heart goes out to you, for you MAY have seen the last you could, enjoyed the last sunshine you could ever have, and seen the most beautiful gals you could ever seen. A world of darkness, but may you have the courage and determination to go on. I know that it is impossible for you to forge ahead in whatever you HAD wished to do, it's now all in the past...
---Bless you---

Yeppers, Malaysia has started with their first batch of NS for both guys and gals alike... Boot camp training they call it. Very interesting idea, though it would be a logistical nightmare there (I mean, look at how MANY teenagers they are getting into this scheme o.0!)
And they have so many camps all around their country! Talk about a major boot camp man... Plus, heard that the facilities aint tt great after all..well, being the first batch, things can only get better!
Maybe they should do this is Singapore, let both guys and girls alike to have a taste of what it means by protecting our country. A chance to understand their nationality better, and forge a closer bond to it (hopefully).

Gotten news that her condition has turned for the worse. Geez. Seems like the cancer cells have spread, and nothing can be done. Why isnt there a cure for it yet? I mean, with all the technological advancements, and with all the POWERFUL weapons we have created, cloned humans, yet we have made little progress in curing illnesses which afflict us?! Listening to what she said... It makes your heart feel crushed, and it is only in the face of death do we see real struggles, the thought of it...
I wish her all the best.

Wondering...abt the ezlink cards on the buses. Seems like they have added a feature where u cant scan before u reach the stage/bus-stop...so what happens is that the passengers have to wait some time (lag time) when the bus reaches the stop... Cuz they can get off the bus w/o scanning!! Sheesh... Who came up with this crazy 'idea'? Haiz. But anyway, they gotta improve the situation, ends up some ppl get off w/o scanning... Geez.
Oh yea...today got the special passes to the 2004 Asian Aerospace from my Ag OC! w00t! Heehee...time to view some amazing planes, plus big-shots! ^_^

Today watched House of Sand & Fog... lame show lar, storyline so easy onez... haiz. Moral of the story: If you cant get something back yourself, dun ask others (in power) to do so... it may result in worse consequences... The movie is so remiscient of opposing powers which refuse to give in to one another... And it's quite ironic tt they use 2 characters -- Ben Kingsley as a Iraqi colonel who fled Iraq; and Jennifer Connelly as a American citizen o.0'

Well, today i din celebrate the a/m event...cos went for a live-firing observation with my fellow technicians, who were attached out to help the ST ppl juz in case any probs happens with the guns... haha...and the start was already a bad one o.0' Coz the starter motor failed to work... 3x times!! Haiz. So, to quote the Russian cosmonaunt from Armaggedon, "American products, Russian products, all come from Taiwan! Juz knock it and it will work!" Mwhahaha... so we did :p
The L/F was definitely interesting and a worthy experience, partly cos I din prepare much for this day, no plans, no gf etc... and also, dunno whether to ask some of those frens of mine out ('cos dunno IF they are attached o.0'.. Imagine if they have a bf liaoz... Really in a fix aint I?!) Hmm so I volunteered for this 'outing'. Things to note:
(1) Always bring torchlight, whether if it is a L/F in the day or not...
(2) Dun force things in if you cant do so using the system... it will spoil it.
(3) ST ppl are a bunch of damn farnie guys... we should hire them in our workplace to give us the laughter needed XD
(4) We like white smoke, the rest like black smoke o.0'
(5) Nothing beats beating up spoilt stuff to make them work outfield.

MSR = Main Supply Route...some Army term...but anyway, aside from that, today was the MSR Challenge 2004. Did sorta 8km+? I dunno...din go and take note of the actual distance, but covered 5 checkpoints lar (4 compulsory, 1 extra... which is the vertical challenge). Quite okay, finished in like 45mins, but dunno distance la. And somemore, heard tt can do >5 checkpoints! Argh! IF that's true, then we all could've gotten more points, 'cos we would've gone to checkpoint 3 another time (so short dist :p)
The start was impromptu lor... tell us to get ready at the start line, but end up sounding the gong (aka flag off) w/o us preparing for it. I was supposed to go for the 1st CP (vertical challenge) and get into top 10 (not so easy) [top 10 runners to a CP get 2x the points which are allocated to tt CP] and what I saw was *vroom!* 10 men had rushed off the starting blocks liao. Plus... as we reached the high slope (4 stories deh..) I started to slow down, and also, many started to chase up, coz a lotta of their strategies banked on getting top 10 in tt CP and then covering the rest of the CP with relative ease... well, din get top 10, but still finished race la, so not bad (i guess? cant compete with those sch runners wad...).
Our unit came in 4th for the Open category, and 5th for the Chain of Command (COC) - which they had to get some stuff from each of the CP to the land rovers. Overall, commendable effort finishing overall 4th! GSMB was first (as expected, and booed...), 1st TPT + STTS and 3rd TPT + HQ S&T came in the later 2 places...so, good job guys!
Oh today was also the day for our commissioning dinner / gathering...din hold a formal dinner, so had an informal session, anyway our numbers are small, and most of them also like quite 'sian' of having a formal onez.. (-.-') Dinner @ Hard Rock Cafe, not bad, and it was damn solid. Nice job by Puay Hong and his committee members :)
Lastly, today also marks Cynthia (Mingli) departure to Aussie land to study...all e best gal! Bon voyage, and see ya soon! Lotsa luv and bestest wishes :)

Current situations affecting our world today: Mad Cow Disease, Bird Flu, SARS...sheesh...All these mad diseases could kill the world over and over again.... Sianz.
But apart from that, I realise how life is so fragile... hearing stories from my mom on one of our closest neighbour, fighting cancer... Gee, when u hear news of this, u wonder why when even we are going to die, we still have to fight on? We fight from the day we are born, to be alive... We fight for our survival, and 'fight' for places in prestigious schools, 'fight' for recognition, 'fight' for jobs. Have you ever paused to think, have you enjoyed life? If u think u have, congratulations! U've found the freedom and greatness in living, 'cos all of us hafta die, ultimately, one way or the other...
Now, I log onto my ICQ and talk to another of my fren, who's suffering from a brain tumour.. And I was shocked, but saddened? 'Cos why would such things happen to young ppl? I mean, cant there be a world w/o disease, w/o war, w/o starvation or hunger? This world is imperfect, but nobody strives (yet) to make this a perfect place. That's my point. All e best, to my fren, and all e best to ur op. Though I may not know u personally, I'll always be there for u. Bless u.
And to my neighbour...all the best too! May u fight on, and be e ultimate victor! I wish both of u luck, and courage.
