Finally...an outing! And the irony is that we are having the outing after we've officially stepped down. Funny, isn't it?
But it definitely is one of the times when all 14 of us can get together and chat, dig into each others secrets and have dinner together! Like how Tianqi has repeated his story the third time to me, Danny and his special 'tactics' in getting his girlfriend (very dannyish and animated I must admit), June's hilarious dating experience with her current bf, Lianguo and Candice's "dull" love story, and Wanling's long story in chronological order (and I knew most of it also...ahha). Certainly exciting to hear such juicy stories now and then (ya but I not 八卦 ok?)
It makes me wonder.
Why did we not have time for such committee bonding? Well, I guess it's the university, the tertiary education which we all are going all out for. For this is the degree which affects our many many years ahead. Our lives, our career, our families which we may start, our offsprings...things like this are affected by what we do now.
Or are they?
I'm secretly hoping that the 26th will not disappear. Already trying my best to meet with as many people as possible, but I know I've let some down, and I've over-relied on others to go out with. My sports camp OG, Wassup, seems gone, but I still meet some of them here and there. My ChESS camp OG Fuego is still going strong (well the core group of peeps at least), and I hope it still stays the same! My Engin O-Week OG Skadi's abit different, with many in ME, it is difficult for me to meet them for lunches. Just have to fall back on the few occassions which I just happen to have the free periods.
Added to that are the new OGs and friends I have. Scarela, Blazor and Okailer peeps. Trying to let the freshies organise lunches is a good thing, but I guess as a senior you are just someone they look up to for queries, and you're there if you can make it for their outings. Overall, I guess I'm rather close to the Scarela peeps, with the soon-to-be-gone late nite mass chats on MSNs, and the TnT which became a sharing session...It's the bonding, and I miss it.
Now to bring on to my new working comm.
It's hard, it's tough, but I'll bite the bullet and pull through it. It's cool to have friends who help you, it's good to have friends to talk to, and it's better yet to have close friends who give you a nice chat session, even on MSN, once in a while. So thanks, to you all out there. 
Sooner or later, I'll need a rest. But not now. Engine's running hot, but I'm going strong. Watch us for Cyclohunt in 3 weeks. Be prepared.

And the new 27th is formed.
A year ago, we were there, sitting in the classroom, awaiting outside one after the other for our voting to be done.
A year ago, we were there, listening to what the 25th had to tell us about our job scope.
A year ago, many things happened. And I think I forgot half of it.
But never mind, memories might not last at times, but the happier ones do. And now it's time to move ahead with the 27th, whilst the 26th can look back at the past year to see what they have achieved.
Time to get the engine running...
Just a point to note...surviving on 4 hrs of sleep everyday aint good. Sensitivity to be tuned downwards. Think there're something which needs to be talked about. Or let nature take its course? Hmms...

Returning to the mountain of notes and texts which I early today morning at 1.30am, I forced myself to study the text for today morning's test. Sigh. It was ultimately futile, as I lay fast asleep on my bed at about 3am and KO-ed all the way till 6.30 am, woke up and quickly got my stuff packed and to school I went, still seh from the weekend getaway. And there I was, looking at people scurrying around asking each other about the test stuff, how they have studied and what to look out for. Me? Just sitting there to rest. Hehs.
I want more getaways. Waterfalls. Stong. Sabah. Rinjani.
Of course, our life is to be a student now and make the best of our studying life. Yups. And a way to do so, is to balance our studies and outdoor life, our personal and our external committments.
Every new trip just throws up more learning experiences. So, there's never a time you can say you've learnt everything. Yups.
But the fun parts of the trip were the cooking, the formation of our BHC a.k.a. Black Hole Committee, the cooking under the tents and sharing session thereafter, the Truth-n-Truth session, the supposed star-gazing session, and the super duper roller coaster ride on the bus from Kuantan back to Larkin. Do not forget the giant beetle...
Hey, speeding bus running on the opposite lane cutting CARS aint a mean feat. Try it. Haha.
And not to mention, the non-stop talk on the way back on the bus, the sort of rubbish we guys talk. Mans...I'll miss them all. Haha. It is kinda sad that it's the 'last' trek with the 26th, but I'm glad I finally did it with Jorin and Shuang Hui! Not to mention, with Tianqi (whom I've done many treks in May with), Heng Hong (put us together and we'll ensure there's rain during that trek) and Peiyu (she's fierce...).
Got to bond a little with the rest of the new committee too. Like how we scandalise CK and Geoks, how "Ah Tiong" Weihuang was criticised all the way, and how much secrets (are they?) are spilled out during the TnT session. Geez.
Sometimes I wished that there ain't any TnT sessions. I was sabo-ed pretty bad, and Jason was not spared from it, even though we both had managed to elude the questions in the initial 10+ rounds.

And it's back to Berkelah.
2 months, 30 days ago, we met at the same train station to embark on our Berkelah trip.
2 months, 30 days later, we meet again, to go up as ex-comm and comm-to-be.
2 months, 30 days. What a long time. Much has happened. Fun, joy, amazement, wonderful stuff, saddness, grumpiness, tired days, lack of sleep and thereof. But it sure has been a hectic 3 months.
Looking back, it seemed that Berkelah was just yesterday.
And I'm missing the outdoors. Now I'm embracing IT again.
It's great to be back, to enjoy the sun, the enjoy the peace and tranquility, and best of all, to bring people up to enjoy the wonderfulness of waterfalls and its associated geographical features.
Too bad, I'm not a great geographer. Maybe all trekkers should also be geographers, astronomers, singers, photographers. Sure makes the place more lively and interesting!!
I need more of such escapades. Leaving the hustle and bustle of the cityscape. Yups. I need more of the country-side. 
It's gonna be good. I can feel it. I hope so...too.

LT7A is cold.
Last week this time, it was friggin' hot with absolutely no aircon.
Number of people, same.
So does that mean the air con for today is to make up for last week? Compensation? Haha...

It's time to consolidate and get down to work. Seems like I'll be pretty busy with 5 core mods (die liaos -_-") and Rovers Comm...It's really going to be a tough cookie, but be with me and we'll hang on there...
Now, down to 15 people. And so far, people have dropped out citing ability to cope with Rovers work. Hmms...
Anyway...Berke's nearing. Mans....I need to get myself into shape for trekking and running. Foresee a really packed semester...But we'll do it!
On a lighter note, was at the NUS Breakers event today. The crowds were not in by noon, but I guess it started to get better and better...more and more people came to help out in the folding of paper cranes! (which was like the MAIN event), and the totally awesome (or was it scary?) number of people surrounding the 1x green van in the centre of the Central Forum - the MILO van.
Saw Tze Hwee and Calvin folding cranes and joined them, and I was 'forced' into the event by Zhihao (who I only intended to say hi). Saw Hong Keat and Ghim Song running around.
Then I was asked by a sweating Liang Han to help him out in something...and I hesitated but just decided to help...and I was shocked that he wanted me to compete in the 5-min folding crane competition...I was sabo-ed by Tze Hwee. Super sian. And saw Ghim sitting along the steps folding cranes, so we continued folding...haha.
Also saw Jac and her brotherhood, Anqi, Huiyan and Weili were involved in the team event for the crane folding competition, Jinyao, Mark, Yushan, Weiguang and many more people! OMG.
Well at least people are very involved in such large scale charity events (other than the Milo drinking thingy...which I felt the planners could have improved things better?). Was telling Calvin how if every single NUS student and staff actually came down and lent a hand, 10K cranes aint no mean feat ;)

Okay this post is kinda late...but i'm glad to announce that our beloved Rovers tees are featured in the NUSSU online magazine, HOOKED! (The article, is here.)
Oh mans...good publicity for our club! A pity the writers got the order of the tees wrong. Hmms. Should do something about that though. But all in all, a good publicity article for us!
On another note...today was the interview for our 27th Rovers Committee. Well, I've made the decision, and sitting if front of your fellow mates and letting them ask you questions, but in a friendly way, sure helps a lot.
A whole lot of work awaits the president and vice-president.
Let's just hope everything falls in place. Ultimately, we've one year to prove ourselves that the next comm is as good (if not better) than the outgoing one.
Managed to talk to some of the nominees today @ YIH whilst waiting for their turn to be interviewed. Pretty nice bunch of people, I must say, and as per Rovers tradition, a lot of Engineers running for committee (What's the link bet Rovers and Engineers?! o_O") But it sure helps. Haha!
Had lunch with the 26th after the interview's all done, and really treasure the little time we've left (officially) with each other...hope we have common lunch breaks! That would be good, so that we can ALL keep in touch!
Time to rest...Had a hectic Thurs and Fri with badminton on both days. Feeling shagged, and the sore throat aint helping. Ugh. (Will touch on those 2 another day...haha)

Committments in O-Week, which meant that you had no time to take a step back and think what you're willing and ready to do? It's not that I'm unwilling to commit, but I'm unsure if I do so, would I be up to it.
Questions run through my head. What should I do now? Choices lie in front of me, just that the paths do not intersect.
Work 'n' Travel? And CK told me, you can still work and travel when you're out in the working life! But I was thinking, is it so? Won't your leave be so precious that you would use it for short getaway trips instead of all on one trip? It's a tough one. Yr2 or Yr4?

NOC? Out of the question for me for I'm not entrepreneurship type of person...
IA? Or VIP? I'll have to make a tough decision on each. Irregardless of the outcome, I know yr3's not the year to play in FOCs or gg overseas...sighs
Committees? Rovers? Engin Club? I'd admit that I'm interested in joining the Mountaineering club, but was it because I wanted to try something so similar to Rovers but not Rovers? So I woke up early in the morning at 5am, groggy-eyed, in anticipation for the NUS Triathlon which I was about to help out. At this time of the day, there was (as expected) no public transport, so my dad decided to give me a lift to ECP. Which was really a blessing in disguise! Managed to reach there on time!
Met up with Geoks at the carpark E2, but Yings was late. Oh wells...got an event tee for her and we went to the toilets to change up into our working tee.
And when I returned, I was shocked to hear that the water point people had all left already! OMG. So I was left there doing nothing and just awaiting instructions a.k.a. to do saikang when needed.
Yings arrived shortly, and we saw Weiguang too! Chatted briefly before being pulled away for a ride in a car to do saikang which was never present! OMG. But nice car ride. Returned only to zuo bo again. Haiz...it's giving us a headache 'cos 1) we had little sleep and needed rest 2) the MC didn't seem to know wad to do with us.
In the end we got assigned to the food centre 'zebra crossing' to take care of people crossing 'cos the cyclists are coming in at high speeds. And there were so many other non-competitive leisure cyclists! Oh mans. Got shouted at by 1 woman who seemed agitated that the competitive cyclists had shouted at her to get away. Weiguang commented that this is the first time he's been scolded. lol. And there was an accident due to miscommunication, and partially my fault. sigh. The guy just limped to the side, and I really was angry with myself for causing such problems. Was also angry with the leisure cyclists/skaters/runners for not listening to us! Tell them to deviate left dun do so, sighs. Dunno wad they wanna do also...Maybe more has to be done in planning for the cycling route. Keeping to a road race would be much much better! After all, this is EAST COAST PARK on a SUNDAY we're talking about...
Then...the 3 of us drifted back after work, got nothing to do, ate ice-cream (yay! Potong!) and then to the sandcastle exhibit we went! Viewed the nice structure, and Weiguang and I got assigned a 'room' each, and then we took pics! Moved on to the food centre to answer the call from the stomach...and we had...FOOD FEAST! muhahaha!

After the food fiesta, we intended to meet PG, but decided to detour to the tentages to get a free goodie bag, and then we walked to the bus stop for our ride home...Took 197, then changed bus to 31, and it was quite a speedy journey, though I slept a lot on the bus!

So we played T&T till the wee hours of the day, about 5am. Weili & Mark's group was still playing games like Coffee-Tea-Coffee and Action Heart Attack. Wows. My OG was like half-dead, but I felt they were more bonded after the questions I posted to them, like "If there was a sinking ship, who in the OG would you save, and why? Include all those who aren't here too."
Got an hour's nap and was woken up by Chun Kiat, who arrived to wake us all up for the Rag Day. It was around 6.30am then. Got up groggily and washed up, put on the contacts (just 3 hrs rest?) and hyped myself up by doing a "Hands Up" cheer. Haha. I was crazy. Yea mans. But Rag is here! Time to go on "Crazy" mode.
All the Engine OGs gathered at the pavillion and we prepared to move out. Red tees for the councillors leading the cheers, and all of us ready to go to war with our faces painted in different colours (macham like Maoris???)

Rag was great! And I saw my Scarela freshies - Ethan, Jason, Lixiang, Matthew and Si Qian getting ready for their rag dance sequence! Really glad they're there! SCARELA ROX! And I personally felt that the dance was nice. haha.
After the Engin rag performance, my OG smokescreened and disappeared to LT7A where they (apparently) played games and zihai, whilst Jinyao and I were still out in the sun. Joyce had also left by then, so the 2 of us joined Anqi's OG, as Weili's OG was also nowhere in sight.
Saw the wonderful KR float, simply amazing! And the dance was great too! I think theirs must be one of the best around. KE7's float about a ship and dinosaur was wonderful! So many moving parts! The Medicine's dance sequence was not bad, and I kinda liked their jap costumes, cool indeed.
Stayed all the way for the prize presentation, which cocked up (as usual?) and I saw Tze Hwee and Ghim Song's ultra black faces. Oh well, even with the most meticulous of planning, things can still go wrong. Just felt that it was not a true testament of the hard work and effort put in by his team for the Rag day due to a total cock-up by someone.
And Engine never managed to win any awards, except for a piece of paper for our effort in the Flag Day, in which we got Silver. Sighs. We need to improve more. Guess we need more dancers? Overall I felt that we deserved at least an award, to reward the hard work put in by them! It was quite a good show put up!
After the entire event, Chin Khiong, Lionel and I were busy zihai-ing with the many cheers we know, and joined our OGs at the LT7A area. Blazor was there playing the "Animal Game" and "Big Fish, Small Fish". Left for lunch at HarbourFront with them, and Jinyao and Chun Kiat also came. Tracy joined us later, at Pastamania, and we all had fun talking and scandalising each other. Haha.
Left the place at around 4.30pm, but didn't feel tired at all! Just dry eyes...took 93 home, and quickly washed up to go out for a Fireworks festival with Jinyao & Weili's Terra. And we met Ryan and his gf! It was so crowded at Marina Square, they just joined us 'cos it was almost impossible to move to Esplanade then. And we sat around talking, chit-chatting, and Ryan was stoned by the Coffee-Tea-Coffee and some other mind-games his gf played on him. Haha!
And the fireworks came, but we were blocked by a structure (looks like a chimney of Marina Square?) and we could not see the low-levelled fireworks. But never mind, the higher level ones more than made up for it! They were really great! Just wished that I had gone closer and in a better position. Wish you were here.
And I went home after that to get some much-needed rest. Getting out of Esplanade was CRAZY. WAY TOO CRAZY! Took a long 2 hours to finally get home! Hmms...and by then, I was so tired, I just concussed, for I had to wake up early tomorrow to help out in the NUS Triathlon at ECP...

Time for a nice sit down in front of the computer after another 3 days of hectic-ness. At least, there's nice home cooked curry waiting for you once you wake up, the great bed to lie on, and the wonderful air-con to relax your tired body.
First up, will start with Friday. It was definitely a shag day in the morning 'cos I had to (literally) crawl out of the bed at 6.30am to get to sch by 8.30am. And I couldn't! After just 5 hours of sleep, it was simply too taxing for the body (haha) to drag myself out of the nice comfy bed.
So in the end I was late. Well, late as a councillor, but not at the time stipulated as a freshie. And the LT7A was so cold! It was freezing! (Felt like as though they blasted the air-con since yesterday as a reply to the hot weather yesterday!)
So the freshies occupied the super-cold LT, and the rest of the councillors and MC members came in to make up the numbers, but there were barely 100 of us there! It was still super cold, and I couldn't join them 'cos I was busy trying to contact the rest of the OG to come down for the 2nd half of the day.
After that, went back to the LT, and the entire event has not yet started! Supposed to be some boring sponsorship talk, so I drifted off to get some food and then to LT3 to meet up my classmates - Alvin, Daryl, Jialiang, Wee Kwok and Zhansheng - helping out at the Chem Engine O-Day. It was something I wanted to join, to know the freshies, my juniors, but I couldn't due to my committment in O-Week (and yea the ChESS side din say much abt the O-Day till like just a week before so...
)
Saw my Fuego OG people - Anqi, Jinyao, Mark, Weili - and some other familiar faces in Chem Engine like Calvin and Jacqueline...thinking that I might have missed out on some bonding with my classmates really is sian for me. I dun like to be a loner, and wish to be with a group of people as much as possible. Born to be a crowd lover? Or maybe just prefer to be hanging around with a couple of other people...
Anyway, went back to the LT and found that it was still as cold as ever. (I can't believe all of them managed to tahan all the way...haha). When I entered, it was a talk given by the EmitAsia guy (selling Time and Fortune magazines) and his "super super super deal" is the sane as the Engine Camp *yawn*. Was wondering how super it can ever go. Haha.
And then, it was briefing for the councillors for the upcoming event - Food Hunt, and the "小天使" role for my group was given to me. Basically, the "小天使" does not do much except help to run the game for the group...in the end it became a bonding session for the OG 'cos we just sat down at a place and had our miniature version of "十字路口" at Bukit Timah Food Centre!
Proceeded down to Plaza Singapura from BTFC, and went to slack in Carrefour. Time sure passes fast. Was surprised it was abt 3.30pm by the time we reached there! So we hurried up and bought our ingredients for the cooking competition later. The freshies decided on their roti prata chicken wrap, plus salad and a desert. Woohoo! But I was still thinking that chocolate banana would taste nice...haha...(cos I wanna eat it)
Had ice-cream at a roadside stall prior to going back NUS. Good food for the hot weather. Treated the freshies to the ice-cream too (and luckily there were only 9 of them eating 'cos I had only 10 dollars. haha) Then we took the long journey back to NUS, and Chun Kiat was telling me about the Engin Club stuff, what they do etc; the freshies zi hai with their own version of "du-bi-du-bi-dup" (a.k.a. the Finger Game); Jinyao and Joyce concussed, tired mentally.
Went back and I took some secret 'weapons' for our cooking competition, and we secretly created our dish...

And whilst we waited patiently for our turn to show the 3 'Kings' (Patrick, Ryan, Henry) the food, we played games (again) and listened to non-stop mambo music (yea they need to find some other song other than "Square Room")

After the cooking competition, we had a catered buffet dinner, and then it was time for a rag performance (like last year). Scarela was very well represented, with 5 of my freshies as dancers - Ethan, Jason, Lixiang, Matthew and Si Qian. And they were good! Really proud of them and the hard work they put in! (Oh mans I'm sounding like Anqi here o_O") The float was also unveiled to us, and we had cheer practice. Haha. Just need to be louder on the day itself, I guess?
And after that, it was the Finale Night. Pageant for O-Week was chosen, and prizes were given out, like the Best Councillor and Best Freshie. Similar to the Engin Camp, they got the Fujifilm cameras!
As for the major prizes, Best Freshie went to Louis of Helios from my house, Best Councillor went to Aaron of Earth, Best House went to Wind, and Best OG is Blizzard of Water. Even though Blazor did not win, the most important thing is that the freshies had their fun, the councillors had their fun, and everyone is more bonded. However, I strongly felt that my house should have won the Best House award since my groups are all like super zi hai (must be cos of their House IC hahaha).
And before we were out of the LT for the night, the house ICs and councillors tau pok-ed Patrick and Ryan. Even though Patrick was rather big sized, he could not stand the weight of Chin Khiong, and I guess it all showed in his facial expression. Haha.
After that, all of us were already on zi hai mode, and mambo fever's back outside LT7A! Dancing, sabo-ing others and I was being tau pok-ed by the Blazor freshies, and I ensured that their instigator Jinyao was given the same treatment. Haha.
After that, it was left to the groups to zi hai, to go have supper, to play games, to have fun. Oh yea...and we just sat at the foyer outside EA and played games, till we decided it was time to bathe, and went up to lvl 5 after that to play Truth and Truth...

Programs were fun, but definitely the side-games are much nicer! Like negotiating for more stones to sabo some other MC member, or to do a multi assualt on a single target. Mans. I've never seen an OG so crazy. Maybe Blizzard's is way over it, but that's another matter.
Sunburnt skin! But it was definitely fun! And I got attacked so many times I kinda forgot who attacked me. Just knew that my own OG attacked me twice, with a waterbombing session and a waterbomb hit squarely on my ribcage?!? I was left clutching the lower portion in agony...damn pain la. But it was okay after some time. And George and Yew Lee's OGs attacked me one after the other...I sorta gave up struggling. lols. For the fun of it ;)
Sunset was wonderful! OMG I've never seen such a nice reddish sun at Sentosa...really glad to see it! And campfire followed which was a rare sight...but indeed they managed to pull it off! Kudos to Patrick and the ppl who made it possible! Haha...wonderful night to remember, wonderful cheering!
Now we need to learn the gang cheer better. HAHA. Then we can use it against our fav enemy...ARTS

Although O-Week aint supposed to be like a camp, it sure feels like an old-school styled O-Week. Not to mention the multiple stay-ins, the long nights, the packed schedules, the rushing by the GSKs/OGLs to meet deadlines. I'm sure I've more to say after Saturday, but that's for now...Gonna turn in!

Just awoke from a long deep slumber from 5.30pm yesterday till 10am today. Feeling lethargic, stonified, sleepy.
Recharged? I hope so. I need to go out and have some fun! Something other than just ra-ra-ing the freshies who feel that O-Week is sian. Something like shopping, having fun at the beach, running, doing stuff that I like.
And I missed the fireworks yesterday night. Again. Sighs...
Guess all of us were too tired to go catch it. Weili and I initially planned to catch it with the rest of the OG (who were at the O-Week! namely, Anqi, Jinyao & Mark!) yesterday, but knowing our 36 hours of non-stop operation, we thought it would be better to get some snooze first before catching the fireworks.
And we were right. KO-ed we did.
Okay...today's...NDP Day? Wow. Woke up feeling like it was a Saturday/Sunday. Haha. Time to switch on the google box (it's been some time) and see what's on.

I was amazed that I'm still sitting up here having a bowl of cereal, drying my hair and typing this blog entry. Haha.
But I'm desperately short of sleep.
Flag day, to put it simply, sucked. Yea man. I didn't understand the Flag Director's rationale (or was it not explained or put forth to us clearly?) Anyway, it was quite crazy to have the SP Night to end late and the Flag to commence preparations so early! We didn't have any sleep, if there were any in the first place. LOL.
But it was alright I guess. Just that u'll see stoned freshies looking at you, and you try to rack your already-tired-out mind to think of new things to ra-ra them. But you can't. 'Cos you yourself wish to go to sleep too!
Anyway, Flag was okay. Our group managed to conquer the quota of 10 cans quickly by 3 and we were let off from Tanjong Pagar! Woohoo! So I took an hour's bus ride with Joyce back to our area, and we went our seperate ways.
Yesterday was pretty chaotic in the morning, with the councillors being late, the grandstand area being marked out too small for the Houses, and the OG mascots still lying in the Engin Club Room! Geez. Plus the hunting down of money for lunch from freshies, it just made the situation messy. Tsk Tsk. Should've just made it compulsory for all to pay for the lunch and dinners. Haha.
The weather did not bode well for the land games, and rain fell heavily subsequently. With the land games cancelled after just 3 games, we had to entertain the freshies at the MPSH area and then allow them to shower up, have lunch and change into their Freshmen Inaugaration Ceremony (FIC) attire.
And I met Yings and Zhihao at MPSH settling some log saikang for rag! They needed manpower, so supplied them with some to help take the heavy poles over to the end of MPSH to facilitate transportation. ;) Glad to be of help guys! Jiayou!
Moving on to FIC, we went over to the UCC to have a peek at what's hot and what's not there. Apparently our bags could go in safely, regardless how big it was, but not our mascots. Weird. So all our mascots ended up staying outside the UCC taking pictures. Wahahaha. Plus the learning of the gangster cheer by Ryan, Patrick and Henry.
After the freshies had all gone into UCC safely, all the rest of the councillors proceeded to LT7a, where we helped ourselves to leftovers of a buffet, and a briefing for SP Night. Info flew in quickly and I guess most of us understood the ideas. And the singlet for the camp is ORANGE! Woohoo!
Then it was time to get our freshies out from UCC, back to LT7a, change into normal attire, and proceed with our bidding info talk, talk by Engin Club President Chun Kiat (also our OG's MC attached) and the Flag Director's address at LT2.
And Lionel, Chin Khiong and I pulled off the surprise for Patrick by doing his 2 favourite cheers, and having the entire O-Week freshies to wish him "Happy Birthday". Anyway, it was approved by the girlfriend so...whahahaha. It just took a taupok by Kok Choy to finish him off anyway.
SP Night followed and it was fun! From the interaction to the Friendship dance steps to the charades (really interesting idea!) and then the girl-guy 性灵感应 hosted by the PD himself, it just lifted the spirits of the O-Week. The irony was that SP Night was...a night itself only. If only it had been spread over a couple of days or more...
My battery died on me, I couldn't make any calls out, and I was so busy that I could not reply msgs or calls. So paisei. Esp. when calls were done during my briefings or whilst I was hosting the game. -Sighs- (But at least this shows I'm needed...haha. Like getting them directions from one place to another. Am I a walking street directory?)
Jinyao and Joyce went to Fong Seng to get supper for the freshies whilst Chun Kiat was with them at E4 due to the heavy rain. Me? Back at LT7a 'cos a freshie decided not to go over to Fong Seng (due to rain), and stayed over and slept sitting upright next to me (I was teaching her how to bid on CORS???) while I was busy listening to music and MSN-ing. Maybe a blessing in disguise, at least I got some spare time myself and to chit chat. Haha.
And now, I shall go catch some sleep...all of you out there, TAKE CARE!

Day 1...and I'm blogging from EA block, after a nice lil' supper, a quick shower @ Raffles Hall (oops) and getting my laptop in a comfortable position somewhere on the 5th level of EA block. Haha.
Voice slightly gone. Wonder why. Seems like my voice goes off pretty easily after a day of shouting/cheers. -sighs- No more endurance le?
Anyway, should start from Day 0...the day when we councillors all gathered at LT7a and (literally) had the time of our lives. Making identity tags, making mascots, learning the difficult dance moves and laughing at our own mistakes, bangla-ing ourselves in a van to bathe @ SRC, and much more!
Haha...and I was really glad I came. At least I think I did.
Went to school earlier at about 1620hrs to settle some administration issues - print stuff out, print freshie listings, print meal 'order' forms, etc. Then had some good 'ol Mac's ice-cream before continuing the work to be done for the day: Tag Making + Mascot Making.
The tags were more or less done, and all Joyce had to do were to write the names on the tags. We were super proud of our creations! Just that we did not take any pictures...too busy. -sighs-
Afternote: And we forgot to add the smiley faces in all the tags. Darned. Kept forgetting. Think i'll implement the sticker thingy then? Haha.
Jinyao arrived soon, and then we had dinner bought by the other group councillors from MacDonalds' - en masse order! All food in cardboard boxes (is that interesting or what?) So in between eating and slurping coke, we chit-chatted and I met some of my councillors in the house, like Chun Kiat, Yiping, Mark and Zhiyong.
Mass Dance was next, and we got a little high after all the cheers (Patrick's fav cheers). Dance was interesting but learning it was kinda hard...steep learning curve!
After the long mass dance routine, we went to continue doing up the mascots, and our group did a star from cardboard and newspapers (which seemed a lil' unstable and prone to spoilage). It turned out pretty good, but the colour was...bad =( Wished we had more time to do painting, but alas being at 3am in the morning, it hardly helped.
After that was showering time, en masse! Damn fun la! We squeezed into Amanda's van to SRC, though it was a short drive there, it was pretty fun! (I need more of such stuff! I wanna ride in vans and lorries with frens liaos! Reminds me of tt session with LY, HH and SH after Ohana. Haha.)
After bathing, it was time to rest...and the next day we woke up at 7 to get food for the rest of the O-Week councillors + committee personnel. I waited for Amanda to wake up, whilst Lionel spent a wonderful(?) night in the van (with open doors!). Henry joined us and we went in her van to Clementi, where we got roti prata and drinks for those who ordered.
Managed to reach back in time to let the councillors eat, wash up and take charge of the freshies who had begun to gather at the first level.
24 people in an OG is no joke. But the turn-out was probably 19, which dwindled as the day went by, to about 10. But having half to stay-over was not necessarily a bad thing, except when most of them were not absorbing what you had to say about the things to do for the dance item. -sighs-
I guess the day was more or less okay. Fun, in a way. Faculty games were smooth, so was the Night Scavenger Hunt, which I felt should be longer (bring them to the PGP and KR haunted houses yea!).
Guess a thing which pissed me off the day was how freshies from other OGs will persuade their friends not to stay over, and that's whilst I'm talking to them. I was rather disappointed that their OGLs did not manage to convince them otherwise, and it seemed (to me) like a virus spreading. All it takes is one bad egg to spread the "Aiya, no need to stay over la. Stay over also lousy/useless/(pls insert ur own phrase to persuade others not to stay over)."
Debriefing was long, and many of the OGLs were kinda tired. Who wouldn't? lol. But I'm glad we're all together in this. More bonding? Haha...Just need more time to talk to each other la.
Now, to rest tonight for tomorrow's stayover. Haha. I'm not gonna stay over in school tonight la. :)

Sometimes, things just do not go your way. You thought that you're being a nice guy by helping others achieve their intended goals, you get others to help you, yet your friends do not understand the restrictions you have.
You're not in power to change anything. Maybe I was, but did I choose that? No...I let it 顺其自然. In the end, you voice out your unhappiness 'cos u felt that I could've intervened and prevented it from happening. And it pissed you off 'cos I said I could'nt do much.
Maybe it was oversight on my part and I'm sorry.
But we've gotta learn to accept it! Meet new people? Learn new things?
I'm never the best person to talk about meeting new people. Oh com'on. I'm still wishing that I had kept my friends together from pri sch to sec sch to JC. But somehow I feel myself drifting...not knowing them.
Uni friends? I dunno but some whom I had viewed as friends became...unfriendly? Or some people do not treat me as much of a friend as others.
To me, I wish my friends were always here. To get someone to know you and talk to. I know I'm more reserved in my inner self and hide my feelings and intentions, but that's because I did not want too many people to know.
Or maybe I'm wishing that someone would view me differently. Accept me for who I am?
I wish I've more time. For friends (no time to meet up?). For family (yea I've neglected them to a very very bad point). For myself (no time to think...-sigh-).
What do I wish to achieve?
Why do I keep doing things which I hope others will appreciate?
Do they even appreciate?
What do I want to do?
Or maybe I'm just looking for a nod of the head, a smile, a sign that what I've done is appreciated.

Just wondering why I'm treated differently.
But I need an outlet. And I was looking for it yesterday night. That's why, the question flew. But I wasn't thinking much. Like a shot in the dark.
And the more I think, the more bad I feel about not making all happy. Or can I make everyone around me happy? -sighs- Sometimes won't you get tired of giving others happiness and deep inside you've to sacrifice to do so for them?
Maybe to them they will feel that, "Oh SY has done this for me...wow, that's good! Now I'm having my fun!". But do they ever think of the things one has to do to help them achieve their fun?
So dun say I never tried. I'm trying to resolve the issue. Give you your state of fun|happiness|friendship.
Someone tell me what I'm doing is right/wrong. Someone...
Anyway. Gonna do tag making for O-Week and an Appreciation Dinner for OHANA. A long day...again.

And now I'm back at the booths waiting for the first freshies to appear. Well, after one time at the booths u know that the first wave of freshies are usually the "I wanna matriculate and get out of NUS ASAP" type of person.
So I'm waiting for the main group of freshies who will appear, probably at 10 plus? Meanwhile, the Rovers booth is empty 'cos Henghong, Peiyu and Shuang Hui went to get some grub to fill their currently empty stomachs.
And the bus 151 is super slow today. Not to mention that it was stuffy, hot and caught in a traffic jam. And I even heard over the news that bus fares are to increase? Where's the justification when I waited 10 mins for a bus which runs on non-aircon (old) buses?! Geez.
Companies which look at only profits and figures, but not considering the people whom they supposedly serve.
Talking about that, it reminds me of the time when we have 35 cents bus trip tickets (non-aircon) and 45 cents bus trip tickets (aircon). Those were the days when you had to slot in a cutely-designed farecard into the machine, and out comes a small slip of paper which is your trip ticket.
Well those were the days. You can reminisice the past, but you have to move ahead into the future...
Back to yesterday, was having Engin O-Week briefing by Patrick and Ryan. Got to know more about the O-week itself, plus I got to meet up with my fellow OGLs. Being a House IC, I think I need to do more than just bond the House...time to think of a common type of tag? Gee. I'm lousy in designs I must say (Just look at the Okailer tag and someone will just tick me off cos of it -_-")
After that, went over to Holland V's Settlers' Cafe to meet up with the Fuego peeps - Anqi, Jinyao, JJ, Kent, Mark and Weili. Had lotsa fun, despite me being late by an hour. So in between downing a chicken cutlet and fries, I was playing the game "Miners". Super fun! (not to mention I've played before) And Anqi kept being the saboteur, whilst I kept getting the miner card. Sheesh.
After that we went over to Gelare for good waffles (1/2 price Tues!) and had a great chit-chat/talk crap session! Long time never do such stuff le...guess we're all busy during the hols. Plus 5 of us are in O-week! Wow!
Okies. Freshies coming in...time to get back to work.
Boring? Tired? Or simply having fun beo-ing potential committee members?
Well, I guess we're tired from standing around for 6 hours plus, answering the same questions which freshies post to us 'cos our booth is just next to ODAC's, not having a lunch break when it was told to us specifically that it's 1200-1330 hrs, screwed up administration with super long queues, having freshies in the matriculation fair even though it's past the timing specified etc.
It just doesn't seem right that a huge organisation like them could do something so unprofessionally. Geez.
But anyway, I had my 'fun' in telling freshies our experiences, had fun talking to other people, met up with Tze at her PRU booth, met Tong Cai at his Akido booth, and many many more friends!
Then I realised, I forgot some of their names. Sigh.
Is it just me, or my memories really fail when I do not talk to someone often enough? Maybe not, just that the person did not have a lasting impression on me?
After that, went to watch a movie by The Lake House. Haha. The house is super nice (yup Tze, I'd agree with u that it would be really nice to get a house like that by the Lake! But for now pls settle for a Lakeside View Condo or smth? Haha)! As for the storyline, it was more or less predictable ('cos I heard of such a story before, from Anqi's musical production last sem), but too draggy.
As for the ending, well let's just say they decided to make it a happy ending.
If you watched the movie carefully enough, they actually said there was an attic in the Lake House with a sloping roof, but...I dun see anywhere in the Lake House which has room for an attic, moreover Alex had even planted plants above in a glass enclosure. Also, the roof was kinda...flat. lol!
I hope I made a correct decision today.
I really wish all would turn out well.
Time is needed, sacrifices by each other.
Will things be the same again?
