First Off...

Met up with my fren Diying, cos both of us wanted to go Kino to get some books, me partly cos I wanted to use up my fast-expiring vouchers. But....

Plus, BORDERS was open but damn ex. Damn gian to buy the book....darnz. Some more we went to Times and she got the book 5 ppl u meet in Heaven, which I wanted to.. -.-'

Well...it was an ok day, but less ppl on the roads as expected, cos it's hols for all now~! Still, crowd was much lesser la. @ Least compared to Sat & Sun. lol. Need to get an interesting read. And fast. bleah

.Ramblings.

Juz thought I'll ramble this b4 it gets off my mind and b4 I get to work. Most likely will forget this when I get to doing my stuff, so yea.

I seriously am against the Army way of choosing ppl for scholarships, preferring ppl who have strong academic qualifications and having gone thru barely 5 mths of army to be given the prestigious scholarships, yet not recognising those NSF officers who perform and ultimately gain the recognition of SoH, SoM etc. These would include my friends, who are each excellent in their own field, and have proven in. Yet, the Army STILL prefers the untested, unproven, and scholarly types. Why?!

Is there something with the system which seems to favour them? Look at the long list of SAFOS, SMS, ATA holders, and tell me who in them was fully tested b4 given the scholarship? I dare say it's less than 20%.

More so, if the organisation is so damned big and rewards only the ppl they can see with their limited view, i.e. the scholars. The rest and condemned and left to staff positions deemed unworthy of the better personnel. Added to the fact is that the organisation DOES NOT reward those who perform good on the ground, so it leaves one to wonder whether the organisation truely believes in maintaining the morale of its officer corps, which is splitting into 2 camps.

Seriously, I give neither a thought nor a heck to the organisation. Serve and f*** off. They dun owe me anything, and neither do I. If they crumble and fail due to the limited scope that is available to them, so be it. Let them burn...

NDP Rehearsals officially starts....

.Today.

And today marks the EXACT day in 1 year which I would be getting my pink IC, and ORD. Yea man. So this marks the start of a long long period of stuff to do, i.e. IPPT (Why they have not arranged for mine remains a mystery to all), NDP, AHM, MSR...

And yes. Today was the day which had the 1st IMDR, where ppl of various groups come together bit by bit to rehearse, I get to see whether my plan works, we get to see how smooth processes are b4 the participants (ie sch children) come in. So it was a pretty hectic day.

Added to the fact is that I was the DO yesterday, and yesterday asked Puay Hong to stand in whilst I made the trip to Mandai Hill Camp, Senoko and National Stadium to load/unload stores and the 19l water drums. Damn heavy. And you are talking about 9 ppl settling 500 of them. Xiong sia. Haiz, but job done in the end.

Lotsa stuff learnt, and some are really good points. Gonna bring up all those required pts in the meetings...

Yea and today was a darned tired day. DO yesterday, did the 19l stuff with the guys, and today having to rush to National Stadium to oversee (but my staff did the job mostly, so kudos). Nonetheless, enjoyable day.

Hopefully, will go out in the weekdays liao...haha....

Yea....So they offer me what they did in the first place. Great. They sure did have an impression that I will do SO DAMN BAD for the interview tt they asked me to take the other thing as backup. Haha. Burn in hell. I wish I could serve, but if YOU reject me, I've no other comments...

Anyway, off-tangent from the above, today was great! Went back OCS again for Army Safety Exhibition, and went back Delta Wing. Everything has changed....Instructors and all. Cadets now have more freedom...and it's only a year! And they changed the PT kit as well...now look like instructors, so have one platoon of *gasp* 'instructors' in maroon PT-kits?! Sheesh...I'd still prefer the white/black which I wear now...Wore white/red in OCS training.

Met up with LTA Heng...now TCO of Delta cos LTA Louis gonna ORD lo....lol! Sighz, frankly just catching up, cos I've not talked to them for long long time since I was posted out of Delta. Really great to see a friend (and ONLY NSF officer) still ard...lol.

Taking work home to do...shack sia. More pay! Pls! My current one sucks sia.

Tml being DO...whole day outta camp, so let Puay Hong help stand in. Screwed up sia. Nvr tell me in advance -.-

Cut Waste Panel (CWP)

CWP = Company Work Procedure?!

Anyway, this CWP which was recently formed seems to be attracting lotsa attention, it sounds like a complain board for ppl to voice why someone has more privlieges than them and why cant the ministers and those govt officials use Civics & Sunnys instead of Audis and Mercs.

Just that this panel seems to be the official why certain things are happening in Singapore...macham like complain board and helpdesk in one. One-stop post for answering questions...

Van Helsing

Watched tonight, with Wesley, Dan and Darius. Darn nice show I must admit. Lived up to my expectations. Well, when yar have watched Bram Stoker's Dracula and compare with this, both are totally different man...

Bram Stoker's Dracula was focused more on the start & end of Dracula, and it DID feature the wolfman, Van Helsing and Mina Harker (to be seen in League of Extraordinary Gentlemen)

Whereas, for Van Helsing, it was more of a action packed film which gives many reasons to watch:

1) U get Dracula and Wolfman slug it out in a 10 min(?) action sequence, non-stop!
2) U get to see Mr Hyde get trashed....real bad :p
3) U get to swoon at Dracula's brides. ;)
4) U get to see the latest gadgets which may not even be found hundred years later o.0'
5) U get to see Kate Beckinsale in a hot hot red dress! ^_^

Heehee....well....Troy's up next!

Think wont mind watching this movie again :p

Like me getting the post of secretary for the sub-committee on Refreshments in the NDP '04.

Like my fren who just underwent operation yesterday. Will have to visit her, though seriously speaking, was more of a net friend to me, but talked more like buddies.

Like Shiang Han, who was admitted to A&E today @ TTSH for chest pains. Darn. He has problems all around -- Work, Girlfriend, Personal. Really hope that he will talk to me, maybe out of camp. But definitely, draw a line bet. work and personal friends.

Like Lionel, who was admitted into A&E yesterday. Darn. Out for 3 days, hope all is well with him also.

Like getting a HUGE task to do this monday... a huge paper to be done to be presented to an impt conference. Geez.

Can there be a better start to this month?!?!?

Darn...still uploading the photos. Seem to take forever. Hehz. Sorry about tt guys...

Anyway, today went out with Matt to watch Starsky & Hutch, and it's a real good movie cos it's set in the 70s and made me all groovy :p Damn nice movie with my favourtie catchphrase "DoiT" Watch it and you'll know haha!

Then after tt while Matt was looking for smth to get for his fren, met up with Kok Seng and walked ard...from PS to Heeren, where we had dinner @ Sakae Sushi. My treat to Matt, since not sure sharing cost with Jon or not. Anyway, great dinner, and we realised that Matt's present from Kok Seng's the same as that (or almost) he has! Wahahah! Luckily, could change for another thing and got him a bag, so problem resolved.

Should go out and play pool with them some day :)

Re-Cap

Hmmm...din really feel like blogging so late in the nite! 0:53am in the morning of 020504?!?!?

Well...here goes anyway...

Fri the guys fell out @ 4pm from work, so as to allow them to have sufficient time to rest/change for the platoon dinner @ Sembawang Yacht Club (SYC) @ 1830 hrs. I din go home, had the stuff all with me in my duffel, so changed @ the workplace and went with Cpt Don. Was raining heavily, so I was quite worried that the venue may in the end become unsuitable -.-' Since it is an outdoor venue....(Initially because the weather was hot, so we were thinking that with the night view of Malaysia and sea breeze this would actually be great for the guys.

Alas, not all could join in....the R&I progress clerks >> Vijay, Joel, Kevin and Koh din, and Tony was Guard Comd, Tor Wei the Duty Orderly and Wee Siong the guard. So that's like 7 down already. Plus, Durai and Clinton both not going....so well... In the end bought some food for the guys staying back. Dunno what did Koh buy for them mwhahaha....hopefully it's food :p

Reached there pretty early in the cab. played couple rounds of pool, which costed 2 bucks per round, and went down after that 'cos AMS having some function up there....ahhh... But the weather was holding up on our side, and it went on pretty fine through-out the night.

Slowly, ppl started turning up, and the ball started rolling....well, mostly good comments on the food, and Cpt Don paid for most of the beer too.. heh. Forced to drink, never liked beer 'cos it's so darn bitter. bleah. I'd prefer wine man.

After the games and small talk going on, Kevin and Wan Poo conducted the games, which was pretty good, though it would be better if the ppl were more enthu. But nevertheless, the wasabi mayonaise sandwich was enough to make ppl sit up and look at the participants. Haha! Guessing drink game. Well, as MSG Tang said: "I see the colour of the drink I know which is not beer already" Well said. Hmm, soon it was time for the initial party to end, and for the guys to go and enjoy the nite. With an ending speech, but never really prepared it...Thanked them for the time. ^^" Photos-wise, hopefully i can upload in first place -.-'

Went out with Jia Hao they all to play CS instead of gg out with Matt and co for the K-Box. Haiz...dunno whether good choice or not. Played for abt 4 hrs sia. Sheesh. Nice and fun also. But seriously, I should have msged Matt they all, din know where they were in the first place. Or was I tired? Well, caught the last bus home also.

Labour Day yest, woke up @ 10am groggy cos lack of sleep (now also!) and went to fu4 yue1 at Somerset MRT. Darn. Ended up with only a small class gathering when a lot said can make it. Sheesh -.- Well, I not gonna organise the next one liao. Getting them together is such a pain. Ate @ Marche, and after the gals left, played pool with Calvin and Tianyuan (initially wanted to watch movie). So the day juz ended this way....was supposed to have met Shijia, but then again....mei you yuan fen *sob*
