AbbA Fever~!

Watched Mama Mia today evening with Grace! And it was a breathtaking performance, worthy for the $65 I splashed out for only Cat III tickets. It was really great to see the producer/director of the show mixing famous Abba songs into the musical, and the edited versions of some songs definitely proved a hit amongst the audience.

"He came from Geylang."

And that was a line which actually brought the audience into the show....by using andecotes which we are very familiar in.

Definitely a must watch. And pls note that it closes this mth....so hurry!

And I think I caught the fever....the Abba fever! :P All the fav songs, all back in one action packed musical!! w00t! Definitely never regretted watching it!

Incredible Incredibles

Pixar wins hands down for any animation movies, that's for sure, and their latest release surely cements their level of powerness in this very genre which they seem to call their own. Oh yea man. Incredible, I must say. And kudos to them also.

This is one down-to-earth movie which I would consider as lame, funny and interesting in the way u look at dysfunctional family where all the members have superpowers. A must watch, indeed.

So, not going to dwell too much on what the movie is about, to know it, watch it for yourself kayz...and, better book the tickets. Heard they are selling pipin' hot during this ultra long hols fever, and esp. since school's out lolx.

Watched this great movie with WW and JM, and pool session soon followed. Too bad, time flies, and it does. hahaz.

Still sore from badminton yesterday...lolx.

R . I . P

Yasser Arafat is officially dead. well. It was expected, just when the news would be broken offically to the public.

Nonetheless, it makes the already volatile situation over at the Gaza Strip and West Bank a more difficult and pressing situation already. No doubt US would be interested in the new developments, and the person to succeed him as the Palestinian leader.

Just felt that he's a great leader who manages to push forth his idealogies and take actions with moderate stands to achieve his goals, however difficult the situation is. However, the dire fact is that the Palestinians have no land to call their own, no economy to talk about, and no official recognition by the world body.

May he rest in peace.

sgIdols

Well, just watched sgIdols on TV. Daphne pretty screwed it up (pardon the language, but the performance warranted this comment), Sylvester did a better renedition of the Chinese Jay Chou song than the English one, and really, I would say he seems like doing a karaoke version and sounds better :P

Olinda still rocks! Woohoo! Both songs were solid performances. Taufik? Well, hanging there, by the thread. This 4-way fight gotta see how they measure up, i.e. whose supporter base is BIGGER :P

And Sylvester should go to the Chinese Rock section :P

Missing in Action? Well...more like Missing In Blogging... haiz.

Never had time/energy to do blogging recently, everyday go home just face the bed. Hahaz. So just a recap for the past few weeks I've been away...

1. HA Plt Farewell Dinner for 2WO Ng was held @ Chevrons on the 5th, as he is leaving our unit to go over to OETI. All the best to him, and we definitely will miss him. A pillar of the plt, I would like to say, and his in-depth knowledge and experiences would count in handy during this period of change. Nonetheless, I cant influence the change, could I? Organisational requirements... The HA guys definitely drunk till they were almost out. Well, at least some of them were :P
Interesting point 1: John is a good singer
Interesting point 2: Kee Sing really cant drink. Hehz :P

2. SA Plt Farewell Dinner for 1SG Lim was held @ Owen Seafood Restaurant on the 9th. She is going on to HQ to further her career, as well as learn newer things to help us :) This was much more okay, lesser drinkers, and the SA guys were not really the drinking type. Also explains the place where we had our dinner, i.e. brightly lit, nice tables a la Chinese Dinner style. lolx.

3. Recent movies which released definitely seem interesting, no doubt. One jap show coming up (forgot the name), Taxi and a few more coming up. Plus, Star Wars Episode 3 Trailer is out :)

4. Many projects up for me. 3 in fact. So juggling them all at one go. Should be no problem, though having the ICs to help out willingly was a problem which was more or less overcome later. So far, so good.

5. Internal changes abound, so trying to make it come through would definitely take some time. Preparation for inspections and to meet customer's expectations certainly push the mark up.

6. American Elections. Bush wins, by a close margin. And frankly speaking, with the world teetering from 2 wars in just 1 season with Bush, I seriously wonder why Americans still choose their gun-toting, war-declaring Bush. And to think that the years of work which Clinton had put in to give America it's first surplus in more than a decade had gone to waste barely a year into Bush's reign as President, it surely lets one think whether he is really doing a good job on the homefront. To me, he seems more of the war-monger than one interested in serving the people and the nation's interests.

7. Yasser Arafat on the brink of death...One leg in, the other still outside. Sheesh, wish all the best for him. Who knows what the future for Middle East would be IF he were dead. What if some psychopathic dude were to become the next Palestinian leader? The already fragile diplomatic and military situation in the Middle East would be in jeopardy. Another interesting development.

To both of them who have left us, I wish them all the best in their future endeavours. Au revoir.

Sick Sia...

...Down with fever...

-SAD-

'Cos it's been quite some time since I was down by common viruses, but this time round (almost a yr and half!) I'm suffering from damn bad headache...and the body just refuses to act. STRANGE.

Which isnt helping considering that I am gonna stick my head into projects which my guys are doing, and all the CRAP of Cobra Challenge...last milestone prior to ORD... ^^"

It aint a boring or bad arrow...just plain indifferent about ppl who are going to leave the unit and clearing leave. Valid reason? Absolutely. To take part in a competition which is a mth away from ORD, and to have less than 4 mths to train, and there wasn't preparation to train for it, this IS frustrating, and maybe I'll end up not clearing all my leave and off <>

Anyway, they have 2 new officers who are ORDing later than me, so why not ask them to do? On top of that, they are more fit than me, I'm just a lousy runner who is getting fat and lethargic and sick already (man! I need rest sia...).

Haiz...Time to snooze. Seen the doc on coming home. Seems like the fever has somewhat subsided, but I just checked and the body temp is still hovering ard the 38 mark...more sleep...more rest...more water...

Home Users Face Fines Or Jail For Illegal Downloads

And this is just so sad...

For a country which has a flagship company championing its mp3 players in its own land as well as in other countries, against competitors, this move seems like the last one we'll ever hear...

Esp. when you need to download at commercial scale before they take action against you.

The problem?

They do not define what kind of scale that is.

ROFL.

And so we've to wait to see who is the first person caught so that we'll all know what commercial scale means.

And pathetically speaking, this law seems to have come from across the Pacific, the country we've just established FTA with. Oh well...the hidden guidelines one has to accept when doing trade...maybe this is one...

Singapore Idol

Recently tuned in to SI, which I aint really a great fan of, but nonetheless, tuning in to see and hear how the contestants are doing.

Jerry is out. Which is great, considering that other more powerful vocalists had been kicked out due to not enough supporters, and that HE is the one who has a church behind him...so all the more better. Just shows that no matter how much support you have behind you, if you suck, you suck... :P

Anyway, not a singer myself, but definitely can recognise the difference between someone who CAN sign and someone who PRETENDS to sing.

Oh yea, pretty bored too. Now consuming my Tom Clancy's The Teeth of The Tiger (TToTT), after Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code. Must say I pretty liked Dan's work for that book, most likely I'll purchase the other works of his like Deception Point and Angels & Demons.

Finally, Gundam SEED Destiny is out! w00t! sW33t! :) Been waiting for a long long while, and this first episode packs a lotta punch too, a la the initial episode for Gundam SEED. Staying tune...

Sunburnt

Well...today was Unit Cohesion Day @ the Big Splash. Yea...where we had our previous Cohesion Day also...but that was only a dinner la... haha.

Today was more fun. Involving salty seawater, a pool and lotsa fun. Well, fun which we searched for ourselves ^^"

And time to let the hair down also i guess. What better time to do so than at Cohesion Day? Well, all work but no play makes one a dull boy haha... And it's great to see most of the ppl being enthu for such an event like this also ;)

Most of all, we tried out the nerve wrecking, heart pulsating Big Splash slides, which literally makes you fly off the slide. Gee. And the sun was pretty (well, can say is VERY) hot. Lol.

Then it was down to PP (Parkway Parade) with some of the guys for a drink, and each went his own way after that.

Now at the comforts of my home, I'm now a red lobster typing a blog, whilst trying to let the moisturizer set in and get to sleep asap. It's work once more....
