Refreshed!

Yesterday, had dinner with Daniel, Farhana, Nur and Yi Si in a mini-gHs gathering, and to celebrate Daniel's birthday also. Well, it's been some time since gHs ended already, and to meet up with colleagues once again (despite me being there for only 2 months) was simply nice. A friday night out after school and Hell Week!

Had dinner at Swensens, and they were having a catfish promotion. It was really great food, though on the expensive side. Bill totalled close to a 100 bucks, but Daniel paid for it, even though we said it was not good to do so. Oh well. And Farhana had a bad stomachache, so Nur sent her back, cutting the nights' out abruptly. Nonetheless, the short meet-up was good enough, hope to meet u people another day!

Today, watched Skeleton Key with Ru Hui today, great show! Though, I sort of doubted the guy's weird 'relationship' with the female protaganist... Haha. And I finally laid my hands on a copy of 李圣杰-绝对痴心。手放开 from her. Thanks!

Hmm...more movies coming? Chicken Little (with the numanuma dance), Narnia and maybe Zorro 2, sounds like a real interesting film fest this end of the year ;)

How You Are In Love

You take a while to fall in love with someone. Trust takes time.

You tend to take more than give in relationships.

You tend to get very attached when you're with someone. You want to see your love all the time.

You love your partner unconditionally and don't try to make them change.

You stay in love for a long time, even if you aren't loved back. When you fall, you fall hard.
How Are You In Love?

Weird, isn't it? But it seems true, though I think not all would be...or is it?

Projects...1/2 Done, Bitching Time...?

CTW...DONE!
Marketing...DONE! *Finally!*

But well, I'll miss the days of working on a group project. Maybe the group members could be more enthusiastic, but I can't blame them. It's just plain hectic, so am I. Just thought that with more motivation and concentration, we could have done better, I could have more sleep (bleh), and we could bond better (^_^)

Booths came, and will be gone soon. Nice time with the guys, as usual. Funny things do happen, after all. And no more vacancies for trips already! Lumbong is INDEED the best-seller, with 20 over people on the waiting list! Man...I wish for a Lumbong III.

Time to get on with my story! *lol*

Sunday was a great day, I nearly couldn't pull myself awake from the bed, that's why. Barely 6 hours of sleep, and time for a long and tiring time of project. Projects ain't that bad after all actually, considering that you get to crap whilst pondering over some major idea. Haha.

Well, it was a cold day in Kovan Macs, due to the drizzle, and I met up with Jacqueline, Yi Si and Yvonne for the project.

Exams approaching, and the Macs was crowded with...students studying for the exams. You can just know who are the students - they're armed with textbooks, papers, pens and sit there for hours without taking their butts off the hot chairs.

So we settled ourselves, running our laptops on battery power, and managed to kickstart the first of the fifteen questions to tackle.

Well, we all know that our local Macs have basically 3 types of workers, the blue-shirted Manager, the red-shirted Assistant Manager, and the other workers dressed in their signature uniforms. Let us let the manager be BS and the Asst Manager be RS for ease of blogging. Names and identities have not been changed in order not to protect the people involved.

At noon, we realised that there was going to be some birthday party to be held by an 8-year old girl at the Macs, and we immediately scoured for new seats, as we're sure that they would ask us to leave to make space for the party.

The RS came over to the row of students, and told all of them to leave. The exact words, I'm not too sure, but he sure did come over to us with the same intention...

We need your table as we are organising a party. Could you leave our premises now if you are studying and not eating, as you are blocking the flow of my customers, and there are a lack of seats.
(I looked around, there are plenty of seats available.)
Okay, I think it's alright...
No problem, we're gonna leave, but we need to have our lunch here first, so maybe we'll eat first?
Then could you quickly have your lunch and leave our premises now?

I was utterly shocked. So were my group mates.

Here we are, at a F&B outlet, and having the RS coming over to show who's boss by telling his customers to leave. It was like...WTF. We have been buying food and other deserts to keep ourselves (and stomachs) awake during our stay at the outlet. Chasing away customers, was that a ploy on his part? That students have little or no spending power?

We took in his extremely curt and unfriendly reply, and moved to another table, away from the party area. I was very apprehensive about spending my money on such a place following the disgusting reply I've gotten from one of the senior personnel in this F&B outlet.

As our marketing lecturer said once, "We as customers, are BOSS"

I was contemplating to move over to KFC or Delifrance for our group project and lunch, since the service here is so substandard (or is there any standard to talk of in the first place?!), but we were rather hungry then, so we just settled for the food there. I was, well, a little unhappy at spending money in a place which had such people.

So Yvonne and I walked over to the counter to get our stuff. I was to share McNuggets with Jac, and since the biggest meal was a 6 pc McNugget meal, I asked the BS whether there was a 20pc McNugget set, and he said "Yes", to my surprise! (Even though it's just the sum of all the parts, it was definitely shocking, and he was very friendly!). What a difference.

On top of that, he literally gave us all the sauces and mayonaise which we required, as I hesitated on which to get. Is that cool or what?

This, is customer service. To interact and understand, not to do things your way.

Had our lunch, and carried on with our work. Out of nowhere, the RS came over to me, and told me,

U guys have been here for some time already, could you please leave once if you are not eating.

Shocked. Disgusted. Again.

Why? 'Cos there were so many freakin' seats available! Either his eyes were floating up there in orbit, or he simply is ignoring the tens of other students sitting there without buying food at all! And he's just aiming at our group, for we were the only ones to get the 'warning'.

I just hecked care, continued our discussion. Work comes first anyway, besides we were about to leave....in....an....hour's time. *lol*

The RS even talked to the BS regarding us, but it seemed that the BS waved off his comments, and it was the end of the redundant statements made by RS.

Moral of Story: Never purchase any goods, CONDEMN THE STORE, once customer service is seriously impinged on.

Okay, finally...I've bitched on this dude. FINALLY.

...stressed...

In the middle of a Marketing Project, just finished printing of my CTW Project. Deadlines, deadlines, deadlines looming everywhere...

Seems like this is the period of time when your concentration and maximum output is required, when the most required factor - teamwork - is of absolute necessity. Time to prioritise, time to stop thinking of stupid stuff.

It's time to get work started, and finish where it all started.

Actually, in the midst of all the deadlines, the fact that I'm still blogging here definitely shows that I've been stressed and require and 'outlet' to destress. Since my 'outlet' is already asleep (according to time), therefore, I've to make do with this site I've here.

A simple convo with Kos turns out this way:

wad shld i blog...
how i know>
u can blog bout wad a nice person i am
how cute i am
how sweet i am
how shuai i am
how zai i am
there u go
5 lines already
oh ya hor

So much for thinking of what to write. I think, I'm just gonna crap. Haha.

Well, the past week has been full of activity - Rovers Chalet, FNA Project Meeting, Runs etc. Simply keeps one busy, yet, reminds me that I need some personal time. Not forgetting sleep too.

Booked into chalet at Costa Sands East Coast on Friday night straight after school with Tianqi, and we quickly rented bikes to save us from walking long distances, and allow us to go to Lagoon to have our dinner. The chalets were very quiet, and this scene was very seldom seen. Perhaps, it's just the exam period.

After our dinner of rojak, satay, hokkien mee served with sugarcane juice, we proceeded to ride back to our chalet to meet up with Kheng Hui, who was coming over. Whilst waiting, we did our tutorial (lol!) and after getting stuck at one of the questions, we decided enough was enough.

The television is EVIL.

Proceeded to play cards after stopping the tutorials, 3-man dai-dee! (Big2 for the uninitiated) Shortly after, Heng Hong and Peiyu arrived, and Peiyu's brother also came to stay over the night, as he's going to VJC the next day.

The 'slack' mood of the entire chalet changed, and we proceeded to do what was the intended objective of the night - to make the gifts for the 25th comm.

Admist the non-stop music from my laptop and the sad TV show being shown on Friday night, we cut, wrote and pasted our way through the night. Finally, most of the work being done, TQ and I proceeded to get supper for the rest, as stomachs started growling.

The bikes are for a purpose, and that's for night-riding.

Sadly, it rained soon after we hit Marine Parade Road, but we just heck care and rode on, 'braving' the rain to get to Geylang Rd. Char Guo Tiao, Roti Prata, Carrotcake and Tou Jiang were bought, and we rushed back to deliver the food. Was very afraid of the packets I have on my handlebars, as they seemed to be on the verge of breaking most of the time. Moreover, the rain was rather heavy, and the road was slippery. The lucky thing was, there was light traffic. We proceeded to return to ECP via Fort Rd, and the long (and butt-numbing!) journey proceeded.

Reached back to our chalet safely, though my white adidas t-shirt wasn't. *sigh* Must have been the lack of a rear mudguard, which meant that the water just hit upwards onto my back, making it black and dirty. Hopefully, it can be washed.

And the food was in good shape! Haha!

Tucked into the sumptuous food after showering up, felt refreshed and more awake now. Esp. after the food, it simply gave one the urge to continue doing the rest of the presents up. So we just...continued to do and do till dawn came, people running along ECP, an old uncle training wugong with sword and fan...

KH went to have a nap, HH and PY were literally shacked out after the last of the albums were done. TQ & I went to return the bikes, and I proceeded to go home on 31, 'cos I forgot to get some stuff to the chalet. Moreover, I did not bring much clothes along, and if I intend to stay on one more night, I need my clothes.

And I needed my shaver! ARGH!

Got news that one of my friend's granny just passed away, though she's not close to her, but sadness is still there. I was at a loss of words as to what to tell her, and (1) I do not think I know her that well to console her, even if I had the same situation barely 3 months ago; (2) I wanted to go to the wake, but she said there's no need to...I guess we're just friends, huh?

Nevertheless, I proceeded home and triedto have a snooze. Before I could plonk on my bed, Lai Yee called to ask me how to get to ECP Costa Sands.

How I wished I had a street directory with me now, and pass to her to let her refer.

Tried to explain the way to get down, and hopefully, she understood. Fatigue set in, and I got a much-needed 2 hour nap.

Woke up, had lunch (mum's cooking! Finally...) and went out with Jiahui to Spotlight to get some of her construction materials for her project.

Proceeded back to chalet immediately, and noticed that VJC had an open house. Got to the chalet to see Candice, Jorin, Lai Yee, Shuang Hui, Wanling already there, with HH fast asleep, KH half-asleep, TQ in lala-land and PY looking shacked-out.

Reinforcements...have arrived.

PY proceeded to get a nap (she needed them!), KH slept despite having his laptop entertaining him (now entertain who?!), HH was in a coma-like sleep, can't be awoken at all despite the endless opening-closing of the doors. I also got some nap, with my trusty transceiver providing some music.

Woke up after awhile on hearing that they did not know how to tie the ribbon, and slept again. Maybe I was just dreaming. Hehz. Woke up a while later, refreshed.

Preparation of BBQ pit and the area soon started. And soon, the real event kicked off! The 24th and 25th Comm arrived, and helped themselves to the food, drinks (and cough-mixture) and desert. Really great time. Shall not go into details now...'cos no time...*Kos asking me to sleep, tml 8am lecture*

Anyway, did not stay over in the end, went off with Jorin and Thomas in HH's father's taxi, really nice of her to offer a lift! Going home suddenly took a shorter time than expected.

Plonking on my bed, I went into a deep slumber...the next day? FNA Project...

*to be continued*

思想。。。

4 Brothers...simply FABulous!

Man...4 Brothers is an awesome show! Just watched with Qingyi yesterday after school. Good stress-reliever, and about the only movie (I think) allows for the constant spewing of vulgarities (e.g. e all-famous f*ck) throughout the whole show, yet it does not degrade the quality of the show. In fact, it just makes it more interesting!

-SPOILERS-

Bascially, the show is about how 4 (not blood-related) brothers return to Detroit to attend their (adopted) mother's funeral, after being shot in an apparent bulgary of the convenience store (Thanksgiving period).

Moments of anguish, tears flowing on reviewing the actual crime happening. But what is heart-warming is how these 'brothers' come together to revenge their mother's death, on seeing the ineffectiveness of the police. Basically, they just take law into their own hands. The twists and turns, definitely interesting. Weave in a gang-leader or 2, and you've gotten yourself a great movie!

-END OF SPOILERS-

Just gotten my Saucony Grid Tangent shoes, and tried them out on Thursday evening. They're pretty good, though I feel that the foresole cushioning is a little lesser compared to my Asics Gel Landreth. Nonetheless, I hope that the shoes would allow me to use it for the upcoming SCM.

SCM, Batu, Mt K, Mt O...all in December....

But first...to conquer the piling amount of work...

P.S. Sun Yan Zi's album is out! w00t! Time to get it!

Class Games! Success!

Oh yea...Nice to have a good 'ol class game today. Reminds you of Secondary and JC days, where the class will stay back after school, play games, go out, and study together.

The good 'ol days.

That, is missing now in NUS, I feel. Competition has spawned individualism, and each person is out to kill one another. Individualism breeds isolationism, and you wonder what is the reason to study in NUS, by constantly mugging, striving for above excellent results, and aiming to be in the D's List.

And where do you go from there? Land a job in a MNC, work your way to the top (maybe?) and sit up there, proud of your success. Achievement? In the form of the position you've garnered. Interests? I'm not too sure though.

Maybe, different people have different ways of looking at things.

Anyway, back to my class. Though the turn-out was pretty small (9 in fact!), it was still a good start. Alvin, Daryl, Enping, Ghim Song, Gong Yu, Ming Kwan, Wee Kwok, Zhan Sheng showed up for a good game of street soccer. 4 on 5, not bad.

Shack, and tiring in just an hour into the game.

But the fun and bonding? Priceless, I must say.

Time for more such games days dudes ;)

Can't believe I'm doing this whilst typing a 600 word essay for my CTW Group Project. Hey...it's supposed to be a GROUP project man...but anyway, someone's just gotta do it...

Punggol Park!

Simply beautiful and serene park in the north of Singapore, just a little off Hougang. And the name of the park is definitely misleading...It's NOT in Punggol. Haha.

Just suddenly had the urge to run up to Punggol Park, run a couple of rounds there, and head back via Upper Serangoon Road (yes...the LONG route). I've attached the pic for the dist covered on the way up, the trip down is similar.

Brought along my ez-Link card, a $10 note, and my handphone just in case. A long run calls for contingencies, and the most important things are ez-Link card (bus/MRT) and handphone (to call ppl! *lol*)

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Met Heng Hong for the run at Punggol Park. Ran 3 rounds with her, and 1 round myself. Her stamina was good, and would probably have ran more if she had not ran at Hougang Stadium herself in the first place.

The breeze was nice, air was cool, and the water was indeed calm. How serene, how beautiful...Running really allowed me to relax and forget certain things, at the same time, it allowed me to focus and concentrate. Call it runner's high or whatever, it really IS good for you.

Went over to Hougang Mall, bought a drink of Ribena for some energy, and saw XMY there. Haha. Then ran back, same route. Took around 50mins or so, had a drink of Milo from Mac's.

Hmm, never really measured distance again, probably would be in the range of 15km? I'll check it ASAP.

Bombings...again?

Natural disasters, Bombings by crazed people...It seems that the world is going crazy. Really crazy. A group crazy to blow themselves to oblivion over and over again.

This just happened like 2 hours ago. Two bomb blasts in the island of Bali have wrecked havoc and claimed lives again! The explosions took place in Jimbaran beach and a bustling outdoor shopping center in downtown Kuta. More info here.

The explosions were believed to be the work of terrorists. The blasts came a month after Indonesia's President warned of possible terrorist attacks.

After a talk with Kossy, gleamed some truth in her words, "the world is punishin us for our evils...some of us are better off dead..."

Don't we all think so? It might just be the key. People who cannot tolerate the existence of each other, people who despise each other, people who do not hold faith in the other party...

My marketing tutor told us in our first lesson that the one major change from the 1900s and now, is the lack of trust. A simple look around the world on the way business is being done surely speaks volumes.

Contracts.
Clauses.
Suing.
Counter-suing.

The list just goes on...

Well, one day, we might just wake up to see a whole new world, a world blown to bits by the very people who make up this world...a world which Man made and destroyed thereafter...a world where people's hatred of one another over-rules the beauty of diversity...

RIP, for the innocents who have lost their lives, for the hundreds who have had their lives shattered in one way or another, for the thousands who would invariably be affected (directly or not) by the foolish actions of a select few.

May the world be a better place. Cherish the moments, memories and people you have now, for it all might just disappear in a wink of an eye...
