'Tis e season...

For bak gwa lovers, its time to say hello to the nice juicy red meat with some black edges!

For the uninitated, bak gwa is known as BBQ Pork, and it comes in varies types, minced, diced, sliced etc etc.

Oh yea! Which means...CNY is round the corner! Prices of such 'delicacies' are fast shooting up, and a walk around town has seen a change of stuff being sold, namely, "Christmas Sales!" and "Year End Clearances!" to "Chinese New Year Sale!" Gee.

Busy packing my room and files for the new year, stuffing away my trekking gear and equipment, checking my NS stuff, and above all, CORS. I wonder who invented it. It is the greatest mistake of that person's life, that's for sure. At least, improve it...if not, please change it.

Sorting my photos out to print, and realised that there are some pretty nice ones which I will always keep and remember, a recollection of what had happened before. Definitely, reminders of 2005...

Bought a new camera! Not a digital one, but a film-based one. Why go back to film? One might ask. Well, this is a SLR version, so effectively I can learn to manipulate the high-end controls on a really small budget. The F55 set me back $280, but I would view it as a low-cost investment. Good for trips, and furthermore, my uncle has the lenses which I can use.

Yesterday was also a meet-up with some of the Fuego peeps. Anqi, Jinyao, Mark and Weili. Kent met us, but felt sick so had to leave real early (like, within 1 minute of meeting us? Hope he's alright...)

Basically it was dinner, walk around, MacDonalds, and...Esplanade listening to a darned good acapella performance. I wonder why I had not noticed such happening things around that area, and my mind just drifted at that point in time. Really solid performance, and I'm pretty much a fan of such music/cultural stuff, though I ain't good in it. But it pays to appreciate, right?

BTW, Corrine May's concert is coming to NUS soon...according to Kevin. Sounds good, sounds superb, sounds like a must-go. Haha.

Shall upload photos of Datuk/Angsi and Ophir later...gotta get my negatives washed.

Get to know yourself better...?

Your view on yourself:
You are down-to-earth and people like you because you are so straightforward. You are an efficient problem solver because you will listen to both sides of an argument before making a decision that usually appeals to both parties.

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:
You are not looking merely for a girl/boyfriend - you are looking for your life partner. Perhaps you should be more open-minded about who you spend time with. The person you are looking for might hide their charm under their exterior.

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:
You prefer to get to know a person very well before deciding whether you will commit to the relationship.

The seriousness of your love:
You like to flirt and behave seductively. The opposite sex finds this very attractive, and that's why you'll always have admirers hanging off your arms. But how serious are you about choosing someone to be in a relationship with?

Your views on education:
You may not like to study but you have many practical ideas. You listen to your own instincts and tend to follow your heart, so you will probably end up with an unusual job.

The right job for you:
You're a practical person and will choose a secure job with a steady income. Knowing what you like to do is important. Find a regular job doing just that and you'll be set for life.

How do you view success:
You are afraid of failure and scared to have a go at the career you would like to have in case you don't succeed. Don't give up when you haven't yet even started! Be courageous.

What are you most afraid of:
You are afraid of things that you cannot control. Sometimes you show your anger to cover up how you feel.

Who is your true self:
You are full of energy and confidence. You are unpredictable, with moods changing as quickly as an ocean. You might occasionally be calm and still, but never for long.

True? Well....it just might be

2006!

A new year, a new beginning...

And I'm still awake now, sitting in front of my computer, listening to 93.3FM, and periodically checking my handphone...

What is keeping me awake till now? 3 hours into the new year.

Nothing much, just some thoughts in my mind. And hoping against all odds for a message to sneak through.

On top of that, simply to enjoy the nice chinese songs 93.3FM will play at such timings. Simply invigorating.

Went out for K-Box at TPY with Joyce, Minghui and Yi Si yesterday (as in NY Eve). We simply sang from 2pm till 8.30pm, and the K-Box people did not give a hoot about us! Wow!

After the K-ing session, it was back home, watching TV, a re-telecast of Hollow Man on Channel 5, soccer on ESPN, and channel 8's Jackie Chan movies. Sheesh. How lame can Singapore TV get?

Wished I had actually jio-ed someone earlier to go for a countdown party downtown, or meet up for some dinner and bbq, or even a walk in the park. It would be much better than sitting down in front of the computer, waiting for the time to pass you by.

And I called about 10 minutes before midnight, managed to hold a 3 minute conversation, which I'm really happy to have, considering the awkwardness we had after my confession.

Just mentally took note of my resolutions for 2006, but maybe, I'll pen down those which I feel can be said here (not in any order of importance):

1) Get my 1-star kayaking cert!
2) Participate in at least ONE adventure race this year. Oh yea. Sounds interesting!
3) Train up my swim and/or bike, aim to take part in school-based triathlon, if not, at least the Singapore Dualthon.
4) Improve my timings for my 10km, 21km and 42km this year.
5) Go for more trips with Rovers, aim to go Berkelah, Stong and hopefully Mt Kinabalu.
6) Get better results for my studies, improve CAP.
7) -Reserved-
8) -Reserved-

That's for now...yupz. Time to sleep....It's no point waiting...I think.
