Today is really a No-Progress-Day. *sigh*
Exams for some have started, others are starting their tomorrow. Mine? Started last week, simply disastrous.
Why do I feel that 2006 seems to be so bad for me? *sigh*
Anyway, looks like Singapore's elections are on 6th May (bet'ya that TOTO for that number is sold out this weekend) and Nomination Day is on 27th April. Very interesting election this time round, but I doubt I'll get the chance to vote (again) since my GRC seems (on paper) too formidable and you do not see opposition members running around house-to-house.
Why interesting?
Cue: Progress Package Payout, Dialogue with MM Lee, NKF case going into courts, PTC delaying the review of transport fare increases, etc etc.
Sheesh, if you've had a decent education (which, of course, what the PAP wants all to have) you'll start noticing the trends...
How MPs suddenly appear, Meet-The-People sessions increase, touring of their estates and wards.
Well, I shall not comment more, lest I face a damming email telling me to register my blog as a political site. But yea, you guys (who can vote) please think of our future? Okay? :)
Back to studies...

When you're in a r/s, you'll truly understand what you want in your partner, what are the failings you have as his/her other half, and what are the values you look out for in your other half.
*smiles*
Just a random thought, again.
Another day of studying, and I'm still very slow. Sigh. I need to really buck up. CM revision tomorrow + finish up my MA HS, should be just nice. Maybe I'll wait till later to get my past year papers done.
Watched a movie with dear today, was at this free screening of Singapore Dreaming (READ: local film) and I had pretty much disliked the idea of watching it 'cos (1) It's going to be exams soon! (2) I din want to wake up so early to watch a movie, regardless whether it is free or not.
But oh well, went I did. Besides, I had showed her the email (what was I thinking?)
Anyway, it was pretty ok la, but predictable S'porean type of movie. Half-sleepy me was nearly drowned by the slow pace of the story, and I pretty much guessed the next moves and character development.
And I saw Lu Qianyi there too! Must be seeing his work of 'art'. Haha.
Exams coming...mind to be focused, all other issues, thrown aside.
But there's something which is still niggling...

Just some random thoughts to blurt here, in between studying...and this is not attentioned to anyone. (Needed to put that line there, just in case.)
Are we a society so difficult to please? Does courtesy exist in our society, especially the younger generations, which is so used to being served instead of serving others.
Which should one go with? The mind or the heart? Would you regret a decision, which should not have been made hastily, that seems irreversible? Or would you ride it out?
If you had your mind on one, but doing another thing now which contradicts what you are thinking, are you really liking what you are doing now?
Would you contradict your own values and personal aims? Would you change yourself to suit another person? Should your values EVEN be changed? What if there are clashes? What if someone else has a view which is different from yours? Do you accept, or do you reject?
Are people punished for their bad deeds? Is there an outer force which governs good and bad, truth and lies? Is there justice, or is justice what humans perceive as being correct. What is "correct"? What is "wrong"? Would there be "wrong" without there having a "right"?

So it all started off with a day of hope and high expectations, but ended being deluded and depressed. The start of the exams...for 300+ of us.
Who would have thought that by practicing past year questions, it still would not be enough for me to get through my Practical Exam (PE) without much problems? Or even the mere mortal task of creating a function which would loop correctly. In the end, I was so agitated by my inability to do it that I submitted something which could be compiled, but output would always be incorrect.
Furthermore, I was hit with the point that I was not supposed to use a 2-dimensional array. OUCH. Totally died there and then.
The day seriously started off on the wrong foot, with a jam on PIE at 1030hrs (everybody going to Novena for FOOD!?!?). I seriously thought that I would be super late and was literally sweating...and the 151 was seen just in front of my 57. I was praying that the jam would prevent the 151 from leaving the bus stop, but my luck wasn't good enough; it left, and I missed it at the CJC stop again, and the SCGS stop AGAIN.
Pissed, I decided to get off 57, walked down to SCGS and took a 66 to KAP, and attempted to catch up on the 151, or to take a 154 so as to change to a 96.
My luck held, for once, as I got off KAP, caught a 74, and then dropped just after Holland Rd to get onto the 151 behind my bus. Phew.
Exams was supposed to be okay, plus you get to have notes with you! But it's just all useless. 2 hrs to finish a lab, where I usually took 4 hrs to do so at home, even with some hints from recommended solutions! Really depressing.
Nevertheless, still went on with the movie outing which I had talked to my Datuk pals friends/"family"/how-do-u-define-the-r/s?, Pei Geok, Shu Ying and Tze Hwee. By then, my mood had somewhat been uplifted, but I really felt lousy and did not even want to study. It's THAT bad.
Met them at PS (after a flurry of SMSes which made me spin in the correct place, direction and time to meet o.O"), and got ambushed by this MTV crew who asked us to pose a question to Sun Yanzi (my idol!). But, I couldn't think of much questions to ask, and to talk in front of a cameraman with a wireless mike is really weird! (Given more time, I would ask her: "Could I have you as my girlfriend?" or maybe "What is your handphone number? Can be my friend?"
) So watch MTV these few weeks, maybe you'll see me on!
(Let me know k?!)
And I really mixed up the new Cathay cinema near PS and the one at Cineleisure. The new one (which is really just a refurbished old cineplex from long ago) looks so posh! Noticed that it stood out in contrast with the nearby old carpark, and with SMU just diagonally opposite, it was no small wonder that quite a number of uni students were there. Though only cinemas were present (for now) in the complex, the posh-ness of it certainly made me feel a little out of place. I see well-dressed people (some in business-like clothes, others in 'hot' and 'cool' outfits)
We watched Tristan and Isolde, the supposedly romantic, war-torn movie. But I thought it was LOTR re-visited; too many scenes replicated those in LOTR! (Or maybe, it's just that ppl of that time do the things similarly...watched too much movies with same themes?) It's one of those legend-type of movies, with the mixing of love, war, hate, treachery and bravery.
As yings said, it was kinda dragggggyyyyy....Yea it sure did. But the "You die, I die" attitude never went through...in the end *ahem, spoiler* died and *ahem, another spoiler* disappeared. Nonetheless, I think the main theme of how love is more important than duty and death seemed...so holy.
And true plain hearts do in the faces rest;
Where can we find two better hemispheres,
Without sharp north, without declining west?
Whatever dies, was not mixed equally;
If our two loves be one, or thou and I.
Love so alike, that none can slacken, none can die."
Wonderful poem, aint it?

Thanks for the movies, gals!

Hilarious...a definite must watch *lol*
But it definitely is true, aint it? ;)
Time to study....lalala~
Luckily, today is a weekend.
Which means, no April Fools' jokes being held. Haha.
Yesterday was dear's birthday, her 20th. Yupz, and it was quite a sombre (?) affair. But well, who could've guessed that last minute changes to each other's plans led to something totally different? Guess that's the beauty of uncertainty.
Project is over and done with! Spent the last few precious hours to clear up certain parts of our project with Anqi, since Jiahui was not going to school. But at least we managed to fix certain potential problems. Okay, maybe I was getting frutstrated then. Hehs. Must credit Anqi for not getting much shuteye...so...sleep tight ger! *winks*
Today, went out with Lai Yee to ge the tents for Rovers. But, the tent I got, the 8-man tent, is WRONG! Ugh. Damn pissed. But never mind, this means that I can go back and change for the OL 6-man tent which I've been eyeing for some time. Guess I'll have to depend on 2 new brands for our tents: Winning and ASK (o.O")
Not to mention, the Sports Connection sales people did not even seem to know their products, other than saying that "It's cheap" and "50% stopping soon!"
Well, I looked at it and it seemed pretty alright, but the lack of space restricted me from opening out the tent and setting it up to see if it was to our requirements. When I did that at home, I was shocked to see ventilations on top! Argh!
What a day. Now, gonna sleep, and return that tent for exchange.
Troublesome shopkeepers.
*mumble grumble*
P.S. I wouldn't have blogged if someone had not poked me for an update. Haha. Lab reporting now....ciaoz~
