After a barrage of mid-terms and tests...It seems to have stopped, or has it?
The long weekend (?) is here! Well, it COULD HAVE BEEN if not for a (stupid) Monday test which requires all to just come back to school on Monday. Gosh. If not we'll have a 4 day break (or 5 if u take Friday into account!) But presentation tomorrow, which is why I'm still awake doing a tutorial now. Haha.
Saw Guang, Zhihui, Jason, HwiBee and Wanling at the table today. Not all at the same time of course, but one after the other. Sometimes, it makes me wonder why the same people always appear at the table. Hmms.
Went running today. Totally shiok feeling. Though it's gonna be more of a routine with Thursday runs, 'cos of the upcoming 42km in Dec. Well, no choice, even with the haze, barely 2 months left till the crunch! Luckily I've some friends who're into the SCM thingy, like Junyong and Zhihan. Makes training much easier also.
Ran to Holland Road and back, about an hour's run, great weather and pretty good speed, though I think we've slowed down for the past few weeks 'cos of the (stupid) haze. I'm toying with the idea of Bukit Timah...Hmms...Seems do-able.
And...I saw HwiBee AGAIN at night in Clementi whilst I was having my dinner!!! OMG. It's so qiao lor. So many kopitiams in Clementi and yet the same one -_-" Hmms, fated? LMAOs. Damn funny la, anyway. Introduce her to another TA (again), just like how I intro-ed Andreas to her. HAHA.
Ugh...getting incoherent and crapping...Time for the tutorial to get over and done with!
I need to increase running slots. Anyone interested? Of course, it's haze-dependent now x_X
Finally, a lotta movies up - The Departed, Death Note (watch the anime, it's freakin' cool), World Trade Centre - time to move ur body to the nearest cinema also! :)

This is one helluva movie. Damn funny too! U'd should watch it 'cos I think the lines are super funny! Not to mention a geeky Scarlett Johansson, a nervy and stuttering Woody Allen whose lines are always the same, and the muscular Hugh Jackman (without his beard and claws this time).
As always, a witty movie made with a little of the 90s smell in it sure looks good! In fact, I kinda like the little 2-doored car which was showcased in the movie, driven by Woody Allen en route to 'save' Sondra. It's the Smart Fortwo:
Nice right? I'd think so too :)

Was reading an article on how the Airbus Industrie have (yet again) failed to deliver its goods on time. Is it relying too much on its brand name and past successes to cushion the ineffectiveness of the management?
Have a read of it on the recent Sunday Times, page 31 "What ails the world's largest passenger aircraft?" The article is informative, useful, and provokes some thoughts about management.
Politics in the company. Ain't it the best to have everything working in harmony, no squibbles, no quarrels? Alas, that's the ideal case only. Here, we see a company which is divided due to it being a transnational governement where politics play a role in the running of the company. An external force, one may say. As such, the company is made ineffective and there are many back-stabbing and problems arising.
No coordination. Simply put, everyone who made the parts did their own way. There was no centralised control over the entire building of the aircraft, and even if it was done, it was too late. One might wonder why such a large company spanning thousands of miles would NOT have thought of a basic plan to centralise control, planning and design.
Riding on past glories. Indeed, that's what I feel that Airbus is doing. It's successes with A310/A320/A340 have certainly placed it as one of the 2 leading makers of commercial jetliners, together with USA's Boeing. But has the A380 fulfilled the promise to its customers? Not by a mile. And in doing that, the airline companies have to restructure their plans, make adjustments, and this resulted in frustration and unhappiness over the company. Well, you'd wonder how would the response be for the next aircraft built by Airbus, right?
Welcome...to the world where time waits for no man. But well, we'd sure like an escape or 2 yea?

And a first sample is made! Looks pretty cool...wahahaha...learning how to make it from Hwi Bee and Zhihui sure was interesting!
Met Zhai @ NUS and we took 33 to meet HB @ BB (Bras Basah, not Bukit Batok like what Zhai thought. Haha) Went over to Artfriend to source for some of our materials, and we saw so many cute stuff!
So many ideas, so little time, so little money.
And when we finally settled on an idea (whilst I was busy discussing with Luiyee on the other event - Farewell party), we decided to go over to Bugis Junction to find more materials! And we realised they DO sell things which NTUC doesnt, so we trooped over to the one opposite Fu Lu Shou complex.
Been some time since I was last there. As usual, the NTUC was still empty due to the time in which we entered it.
Returned back to Bugis Junction with our growling stomachs, and we tucked into bowls of ramen @ Ajisen! Too bad, the day in which we require the camera, I did not bring it o_O"
So we were wondering how to camera-whore with our new sample, and we remembered that Zhai has her cameraphone!
So we took the picture of the sample...looks cool sia! Eager to get more done...woohoo!
Then, went to PS with Hwi Bee, where she met her bf and I saw Lijun there doing her project. lol. Damn funny la. Somemore there was a live band due to a band competition organised by Power 98 FM. Their music sound cool and soothing, even though they were just covers of the original songs, like Coldplay and Daniel Powter. Alas, we didn't stay long, and left for home shortly after.
Seems like the haze is clearing up...which is better! At least it makes it easier for me to go running. haha!

Vivocity is HUGE! O_O"
(But not as huge as compared to Suntec, me thinks)
Went to this new shopping mall at Harbourfront with Eups on Monday, after her driving lessons. It's been so long since I've met up with her! Hmms...and she's pinkish. Haha!
Anyway, the possible reason (I could think of) why Vivocity's not bigger than Suntec would most probably due to the fact that less than half of its tenants are ready for business. It's very much like a half-opened oyster now...only F&B outlets available, but it's good enough! (Think: Gloria Jeans', Pacific Company, Haagen Daz, THE Coffee Bean etc!)
After browsing the mall, which was quite crowded despite being newly opened and it being a weekday, we settled at Haagen Daz for some ice cream (plus they were having some promotions!) Alas, the crew were kinda lost, possibly due to them being new. Greenhorns tend to be lost if there are no proper on-the-job training, which reminds me of the times in Army when new technicians have to quickly learn the skills from the lao-jiaos a.k.a. ORD-ing personnel.
Then, we had a sudden urge to just go K! Off we went! To Suntec somemore...haha. 97 was fast, brought us to our destination, and we went over to K-Box. Managed to get myself a replacement set of earphones (my old one apparently is dead on one side -_-" Prob a wire loose.)
And it was a ear-opener to listen to my jie sing, despite her flooding a lotta songs to let me sing o_O" But at least, with 2 people, singing is fast and furious, u just go on and on...and before we knew it, we had exhausted our 3 hours there pretty fast! There were also hardly any people at Suntec, and Eups quipped that most likely they went over to Vivocity, but I was thinking more of the effects of Monday blues. Haha.
Seems like I'd gotta get a fix of Gloria Jeans...too bad they do not have an open-air lounge like that of Pacific Coffee Company, admiring Sentosa whilst you have a cuppa. Tried their coffee and blends over at KL when I went Batu, hope it's as nice here!
The amphitheatre was nice, the outdoor parts were nice...the lil' playground is simply too irresistable! Hahaz...A place to chill? Maybe ;)
A damn nice song...once again...天天夜夜 by F.I.R. This time, with lyrics!
i want to know
how do i breathe without you
if you ever go
how do i ever
ever survive
how do i how do i
oh how do i live
so how do i live
how do i live
how do i live
without you
当你的手还握在我手中
没有一次
我还放手
没有一次
停留
当你的手还握在我手中
灿烂的笑容
不论过多久
都让我心动
oh tell me now
how do i live without you
how do i breathe without you

Just finished a good read~ haaz...it's Mitch Albom's "for one more day". It's so wistful and nostalgic...About family, about love, about children, about life.
I'd recommend to you guys...you've just gotta read it! I think my love for books is returning...woohoo! Not the text books, but novels like these. Intruging, and yet they strike a chord within you.
"Kids want you to hurt the way they hurt."
- "for one more day", Mitch Albom
How true.
Anyway, today's weather was great! Woke up feeling nua, yet I'm feeling great 'cos the haze had miraculously disappeared! (So was it due to MAF that it appeared? I wonder...)
Had buffet lunch with my parents and bro, and his gf too! Japanese, Western and Local buffet in one! First time that I've eaten till I could hardly take in any more. Geez...But it was fun, after all, lunching with parents = no need to waste money haha.
Spent the day studying. It kinda sucks to have your weekend (or Sunday to be exact) devoted to studying. Geez. It's just NOT right. But what to do...we're students, after all.
2 more months to end of term! Time flies...

Wow...how wonderful it would be if our stock markets were to emulate the trends of our PSI level readings...wouldn't it be WONDERFUL? It just keeps increasing!
3-hour PSI = 130 as at 10 am 7 Oct 2006
3-hour PSI = 128 as at 11 am 7 Oct 2006
3-hour PSI = 115 as at 12 noon 7 Oct 2006
3-hour PSI = 150 as at 9 pm 7 Oct 2006
We're all in Genting or Mt K, yea? This is wonderful mans...*lol* But lucky thing is, it decreased to 140 tonight, so it's pretty much better. I'm just lucky that I wasn't out in the open breathing in 2nd hand smoke.
Which brings me to the point on why I still see people smoking and puffing heavily away despite the haze. It's just adding on to the haze. And one wonders if the haze is contributed by all 4million Singaporeans smoking together at the same time. lol!
To all: Drink more water! It just seems that the weather is too bad to do any physical activities. Running in excess of 100 PSI is a no-no to me, at least. It's crazy to run in such haze, not to mention the possible respiratory problems you might have to suffer from after a crazy idea. Hehs. And I'd think all of us just had our lives cut by 7 months from the thick haze yesterday.
Oh how I hate it. Can't we make some shield to protect ourselves, or simply give money to our neighbours to stop this yearly ritual?
On the point of money, there's an interesting piece of news in a blog which I surf - Wei Kiat's Blog. This is the picture featured...

This, being a gift from the graduating class of AJCians, and not to mention the seemingly insensitiveness of giving a clock to someone, it costs an eye-raising $1,850!!! For a Swedish digital clock accurate to the very minute! OMG!!!
So...this clock is worth $1.8K? Time to gimme the money so I can get other things....
On another note, here's a random (but funny for CS-ers) video:
Life is always wonderful...just look above the cloak of clouds (and haze), and you'll find sunshine around you ;)

Berkelah participants dinner + Mid-autumn gathering turned out to be fun Fun FUN!!!
Was running with Zhihan in school on Thursday at 8pm. Even though it was late, the haze was pretty bad. We both wondered how the heck we managed to complete our NUS-Dover Rd-NUS route. Sheesh. Amazing, but true! Munchies had their 2nd anniversary, yet they closed early at 9.30pm. Woah. So in the end, we had to make our way to Clementi, where we had dinner (and he had his fix of stout).
It was then that I realised that Octoberfest has arrived! Wishing you were in Germany now with free-flow beer? Haha....
Next, had to endure 5 listless hours in school yesterday. But well, managed to meet up with some of my Berkelah participants like Phoebe, Lijun, Terence, Hong Quan, Tan Ching and Steph, my junior from my course!
But the day turned out to be better even thought the haze got worse.
After meeting the Berkelah paritcipants - Lijun, Hong Quan, Dennis and Terence at the Science Library, together with Weiguang, we proceeded to meet Grace at Fish n Co at The Glass House. Being the hungry us, we quickly ordered our food, and whilst waiting for them to be dished out to us, we photowhored like mad. Muhahaha...That's how the battery runs out damn fast even with 2 cameras present!
Jason and Phoebe arrived later, and after our meal, whereby Weiguang and Jason had to leave earlier, we finished up the food with some good 'ol games!
With too much money left over (due to some calculation errors o_O") we proceeded to PS to do our shopping for our lil' MAF celebration. The haze was getting worse and we could see lights lighting up the dust particles along the light pathway.
And the underground path was so dense with smoke! (Another realisation: Grace cannot reach the ceiling of the underground walkway even though she jumped o_O")
Shopping in Carrefour was fun! Searching high and low for our lanterns and candles...an almost impossible task that was finally done after our meticulous searching! Being non-smokers, we had to buy a lighter (as always) and we trooped to Marina Square, where we had more pictures, more haze inhaled, and realised that the skyline of Singapore became super blur.
A surprise find was a "Start" sign to the Lantern Lighting Route. Totally amazing! We didn't know that there was an event being held at the Esplanade. We set about lighting up our paper lanterns and gingerly held them with our ultra-long satay sticks...it was super duper fun! Walking down the Esplanade area with our lighted lanterns, enjoying the haze (O_O") and the friends around me...simply amazing! I'd think that this group of participants would bond more after the trek...can imagine the continued gatherings which might happen...
Whilst the others left (having Geo field trip the next day), Phoebe and I stayed for some drinks...and live band. I just needed to get myself into the mood of Octoberfest! Hahaz...Hoegaarden was great! But more people would definitely be better...More talk, more fun :)
I'm looking forward to more gatherings! Whee~ Happy, happy, happy!

It's finally over...YES! 3 consecutive tests over! Just a take-home test which still has approx 27 hrs to go before submission. But should be okay la...Been busying myself with the books for the past 3 days, it's sure horror.
Why do we mug and study so hard? Just to get that paper? Maybe there's more to it...
Like how you stupidly study so hard for a 6 question MCQ with differential point system, and it's a clear sign that you'd either get full or none. Wow. What a way to boost one's morale. It's just plain lazy of the lecturer to want to sit down and mark 300 scripts. It's all on the wall for us to see.
Well, we are lazy by nature, aren't we? It's easier to want to do less things than to do more things and get yourself bogged down by the indocracies of having to settle the 'more' things.
Time to get some runs done. Been a while since I trained. It's gonna be bad if I just can't run during my SCSM. It's like a long way to go...
I can't believe half a semester has gone by. Some things have changed, interesting things have appeared, and I think by spending more time with my class, it seems better...Crazy moments and talk-cock sessions surely a part of our 'gatherings'. Haha.
Feeling better now, won't get depressed or down for too long anyway, since that's ME. But things will always be at the back of my mind. Maybe by not thinking of the situation, it would be better?
A nite of slacking yesterday sure pays off...even though I'm pretty pissed with myself for not knowing my stuff when I tried to do homework without revising. Sighs...
Looking forward to the Berkelah participant gathering on Friday! Woohoo! I wanna go pub! I just need to relax... ;)
But time and tide waits for no man. This, is absolutely true.

I've never liked hospitals.
It just reminds me of sadness. Why?
And there I was, standing there, looking out at the very same view as I did 2 years, 3 months ago.
Why such a surreal feeling? I hate it. Pls dun let it happen again...
I'm just keeping my fingers crossed. And giving a silent prayer.
Sorry all, if I'm kinda 分心 now. I'm really sorry.
How I wish some things can turn for the better instead...
Just being strong...staying firm in despair? I hope so. Well, life is full of lessons anyway.
